I am part of the PTA and are proud of all the work we do for te school. It amazes me how much parent participation we have. Parent organizations are a big part of what makes a school reach it's fullest potential. We work hard to do all we can do to make things better and better. The staff are great and the students truly love going to school. School is fun and they learn so much. The activities are great and help break things up for the kids.
I am so happy to see the school growing throgh 8th grade. I am a middle school mom this year and thrilled with the staff. The kids can really relate to them and they make learnign challenging yet fun for the students. Interventions are provided to the students who need help and enrichment provided to the advanced students. There is a great balance! I have a child who benefits from the interventions and another who benefits from the advanced classes. It is really priceless to have such a great school.
I had a daughter who graduated and now her sister is back and we love it just the same or more. I do not see any truth to the negative posts. It appears to me those must be false posts. The school, the management, the PTA, the GALA committee, the aftercare, and the enrichments are all great! It is literally just like a private school. Do not let anyone tell you differently. Just go see it for yourself, take a tour and meet the staff. GREAT environment! A school! Glad to be part of it all.
Proud parent of BPA. We are part of the baseball team and to us it is like an extension of our family. We are a really close grop of families that really care and are really involved in the school, our children's education, and all of the activities. We are happy that the school is expanding each year to get us through 8th grade. It is a small school with 300 or so students. My family and our children love it here. The academics are serious, the sports are great, the staff, students, families and environment awesome!
I am a cheer mom and have nothing more than great things to say about the school! My daughter is excelling academically and in sportsmansip as well. It has been such a great experience to be part of an A rated school with such a great sports program as well. The students are like a family. Everyone know everyone and parents and staff go out of their way to be helpful. I reccommend this school all the time. Unfortunately the demand to get in is huge and few spots open up each year, most are taken up by siblings and few if any open up in the higher grades. Looking forward to future plans for expansion.
All about profit... The teachers are very good they seem to either be new and still have a vocation for teaching or have tenure and love what they do. Unfortunately, the management of this school is poor at best and it is clear that there is preferential treatment of kids who matter to the bottom line (those whose parents donate/fund-raise the most. Even if you are involved be prepared to be overlooked if you don't have funds or connections that matter to them. THIS IS A BUSINESS
best decision i ever made to was to pull my kids out of this school. this is the perfect example of how giving a corporation money to run a school is not always a good idea. The bottom line is profits and it is apparent in everything they do and how the school is run.
Educationally, the school is very good. Teachers are friendly, professional and thorough. The experience with the management company is horrible. It's clear that the focus is money and profit. The school is overcrowded, they have no cafeteria, and the limited campus resources are maxed out. Yet, they keep increasing the number of students year after year. The facility simply cant handle the demand. The PTA is horrible, run by incredibly unprofessional people with close ties to the management company. The PTA is essentially the fundraising arm of the management company and coordinates almost no educational functions. They constantly raise money, but we see no results. The Principal is a very sweet lady, but is obviously being run ragged by the management company, which is forcing her to run 2 campuses. If you call the management company, you are met with hostility and threats. If it wasn't for the quality of the teachers, I would have pulled my kids out a long time ago. Unfortunately, we see the down side of privatizing education here, as the management company clearly puts profit before what's best for students.
The TEACHERS are AMAZING! BUT! The management company that runs the charter school is an utter disaster! Horrendous and unhelpful attitudes, plan ridiculous time consuming events that are NOT educationally focused! They should open up a event planning company, not run a school. These kids need to be challenged academically not socially. The Principal is running TWO schools and does not have the energy to make the commitment it needs for improvement. It began to become overwhelmed with the additional students this year and the quality has suffered. The next two years, as they expand into 7th and 8th grade, it will only get worse :( Such a shame for the sake of MONEY they are making poor decisions. The best teachers are whispering of leaving :( I don't want to change my sons school for his stability but seriously considering it. Lastly, don't even bother getting involved in the PTA its run by the management companies friends, lol.
Im very disasppointed with this school. The kids are not challenged enough and the principle can care less for the overachievers. They spend more time planning and executing mindless events then they do preparing our kids to be at the top of the class. it also concens me that when I pick up my child from the after school program kids are roaming the hallways unattended. Needless to saythe principle needs to step up and prepare our kids to be leaders. recognize talented kids and introduce programs to standout. cut back on the custom parties and implement more activities to challenge their minds. are s are roamingthe wallsways
The teachers and staff are in touch with every aspect of the students' progress. The communication between the school and the parents is excellent. Strong curriculum and very knowledgeable teachers..LOVE IT!!
So pleased with the changes in teachers this year! The principal has done a great job in maintaining the best teachers year after year as well as hiring new teachers. I greatly appreciate the principal's continuous involvement in addressing and taking action to support our children's educational needs. Looking forward to yet another great year with Bridgeprep South campus.
My child has been going to Bridgepoint South since it first opened its doors. They have had great teachers however, many of those great teachers have left due to the Principal and/or management issues. Even though my child has been happy in this school and as a parents I love the fact that it is a small school and everyone is very acquainted with each other, I believe there is some major issues with the Principal and/or management too. They need a new Principal who understands every child's needs and who is more "updated" with today's education. One who is not manipulated by management and/or afraid to stand up when he/she has a strong opinion on what needs to be done in order for the school to succeed. I am very doubtful that my child will continue to attend this school if changes are not made within the next school year.
Great school, teachers are very educated and well organized. I've had my child in this school since he was in Kinder and he is doing extremely good. He learns something new everyday and seems to enjoy learning. Parking is way better than what I've heard at other schools. I would definately recommend this school to anyone and everyone.
My child's love for his school is a true reflection of the dedication that all Bridgepoint teachers and staff have. The small school approach is so wonderful. Everyone knows each other and there is a true sense of community. The academics are very challenging and seem to always be of great importance to the school. Overall, I can sincerely say that the school has exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend this school.
Pleased with the school! The teachers and staff are wonderful. We could not be happier with the great education our son is receiving And we are pleased with the learning enviroment our son is surrounded with. The principal shows excellent leadership and takes great pride in her school!
Bridgepoint downtown. My child is happy in the school, he makes friends easy and absorbs everything he is taught. However, I agree with another parent, the main office seems overwhelmed and unorganized, they are not very receptive to parents concerns or requests. The aftercare program is the MOST UNORGANIZED, the staff is nice and friendly but lacks structure and/or experience. They don't really track who sings the pick up sheet and anyone could potentially take off with any kid; they also can't keep up with children's behavior, they report a problem but can't tell exactly what happened or who did what. If parental involvement is really strong, they should work with the parents in addressing some of these issues.
Good school, strong academics so far. My child is very adaptable but yes, she loves going to school and transferred from a private school. Too bad the Village Green school lost Mrs Bosque this year, she was an outstanding principal and is sorely missed.
Bridgepoint Academy Downtown Campus. They are very UNORGANIZED, staff is nice but they seem to be overwhelmed. Good atmosphere for the kids but academics are light. Not a good school for a child that needs constant challenges or advanced programs. I am already looking for other school options.
My children have been attending Bridgepoint Academy for the past two years. The atmosphere of the school is like a private school. The classroom sizes are small and they offer many family events to encourage a family oriented environment. The teachers and staff care so much for the kids, are professional, and are attentive to their needs. Our children love going to school, they love their teachers and they feel motivated and encouraged. The school offers art, music, Spanish and enrichments after school. I would recommend this charter school to anyone wishing a private environment that is publicly funded.
