This school mimicks the private school environment, where the classes are small and the curriculum is high level. I like that the school's kindergarten and now 2nd grade reading teachers are extremely gifted in teaching how to read. The school needs to improve on organization. Many times I don't receive important notices until the last minute.

My daughter is in first grade and has strong and wonderful teachers. THe teachers are very dedicated. My daughter has learned many new things this year and loves going to school to see Mrs. R. This school is on the right track for a better future!

My son finished first grade at Bridgepoint Academy of Village Green and I couldn't be happier. The teachers, the principal and the office staff are extremely professional, helpful and dedicated. The parents are also amazing. I am a very involved parent and I really enjoyed the bonding that the families did at the various activities. My son learned a great deal with Ms. Batista-she is an awesome teacher. Mrs. Hernandez who is the Spanish teacher managed to teach my son Spanish. I am very glad to be a part of the Bridgepoint Academy of Village Green family.

Don't be fooled by the orientation presentation of this school being an "art school". My kindergartener returned his smock unopened at the end of the school year, along with stacks of worksheets, workbooks, worksheets, did I mention? worksheets? The only art projects were created at home and sent in to school. The children didn't have art or music class, and the only art they did consisted of coloring, cutting & pasting! The K Math curriculum, mostly concentrates on 'bubbling in' for tests, it did not even mention the clock nor money concepts. The schools persistent task of asking for money, is ongoing all year, every week, for every reason! Not even public schools do this! Parent involvement is a must, which is great, except that you can buy your way out of that one too! That shouldn't be!! It's about the parent being INVOLVED, a PART of their child's life at school. What principle are we teaching them, to buy your way out? They'll even try to tell you they will deny your child a transfer to another charter school, so BEWARE, because that is UNTRUE, the downtown charter school supervisor assured me of that! So, for a bilingual education, you're better off picking up a workbook!
