Excellent teachers, Excellent administration, Strong academics at ALL levels: Champagnat Program for the learning disabled, Regular Academics for the average student, Honors Program for the students that need more of a challenge, and the ALPHA program which is for the extremely bright and academically gifted students. The school has so much to offer as far as electives, clubs, and extra curricular activities is concerned. If you're interested in the arts, St. Brendan HS is the best! National award-winning dance team, National award-winning chorus, amazing faculty, and one-of-a-kind community. There is so much love in that school and in its community. As a teacher, I recommend it 100%.

I recently graduated (c/o 2011) and I'm very happy for the education I received. While I didn't take any AP's until junior year, I felt prepared when I did take them. They have the Alpha Program now, which is a great resource for motivated students. My teachers were all great, and I really got to connect with all of them. The counselors do their job in informing for universities and such, but it is up to the students ultimately to make their decision and do their work. There are mediocre students who do mediocre work and then complain about it all. I took all the hardest classes every year, worked super hard all four years, and it paid off. I'm going to college (out of state) and I am receiving both an academic and athletic scholarship. I would recommend this school to anyone, especially if you are willing to work hard.

Overall, it is a very good school that does focus on academics. However, I am not content with the religious education that my daughter is receiving. One of the main reasons that I enrolled my daughter in the school was because it was a private catholic school. I am completly in shock, however, when my daughter goes on facebook and I see pictures of her fellow classmates drinking and doing other inappropriate things. The school should partner up with the parents to try to promote a more Catholic atmosphere in the school. Teachers need to further promote catholic ideals in the classroom. I attended the school when I was a teen, but a lot has changed -- and not for the better. But academically, it is a good school.

The bahavior of some students has given the school a bad name. I do not like how the entire administration has not done anything to enforce more control. Academically we are a very talented school, but like the previous comment stated, some teachers have indeed lost sight of why we are actually there: to help promote christian values among the students while helping them acheive their goals. Things need to change.

My daughter is currently a Junior and I am extremely happy with the education she has received thus far. The teachers are always willing to go above and beyond. There are many opportunities for extracurricular activities. Academically, they are able to accommodate all levels, from mild learning disabilities to super high achieving students with the Alpha program. The guidance counselor's office is doing a superb job of preparing the students and parents for college. We are very pleased for having chosen this Catholic high school for my daughter versus the others.

The two recent posts stating that the school does 'not pay attention to the kids' and does not focus on the 'college path' couldn't be further from the truth. My daughter is a freshman at this school and is already taking an AP college dual enrollment course. Within a few weeks of starting, teachers were already discussing and addressing the importance of planning for college. Plans are in the works for some freshmen to visit some college campuses. This school caters to all level of students. The ones at the high end of the academic spectrum would have been accepted at any other local private school. There are also students that learn at a slower pace. Everyone is not only tolerated but celebrated for who they are. This is a great school.

My daughter stated this year and she has done extremely well. Her teachers are very encouraging andare helping excel in her academics. I would just like to have spiritual retreats for the freshman class.

The School needs to focus more on the college path of the students since their early years and even more the last years. They don't seem to motivate students to go to high ranked universities. The counseling system doesnt seem to be good enough.
