A schools management is easly revealed by the courtesy & attention a person is given. St. John Neumanns office staff has proven to be unhospitable in every inquiry I have requested with enormous inconsiderable dissent. The motto for the school should be("The more money you give the more you get") As part of a Catholic education enduring kindness, modesty & harmony toward humanity ,the students do not practice these religious teaching with each other. Concluding, it is an unfriendly, unhealthy environment which you will be paying money for.

There is a pervasive unchristian environment at this school. Teachers scream at the children regularly even at lunch time. Children are mean to each other; bullying is rampant - teachers are more annoyed with the child who complains about being bullied than interested in stopping the bullying itself. Staff will smile to your face, then talk behind your back. This is a very small school, and the unchristian, nasty attitude of some staff and teachers has taken over the environment here. Children learn by example....

St. John Neumann school provides the individualized attention all children deserve. The faith based education that teachers provide is something rarely seen today. We are proud to be a family at this school.

It provides both a top level education, competative sports program for all sports, combined with the religious values that have helped me throughout my life.

Higher education. The stats for this school speak for themselves. A small school with a tremendous academic success record.

It is a fantastic school for my daughter who is deaf. She is the only deaf child in that school and the school made sure that she acquire education, provides her resources for her needs, and treat her equally like other children. That school has many proud parents who fully participate any activites at St. John Nuemann.

St John Neumann is does not only give the children an outstanding education, but helps parents raise their children to be courteous, respectful individuals who are strong in their faith.

It is a small community with lots of quality and small town feel in a large city. The teachers are incredibly caring for the children and for what they teach!

I am proud to say I go to St. John Neumann. The school is very serious about academics. Whenever we go to compatitions, our school always comes out on top. And not only is the school great when it comes to academics, but as a student, I feel like the teachers our my second pair of parents. I am in all the advanced courses that the school offers and I love the school. I truly feel like I am getting something out of it. Also, the school onle has about 350 in 11 grades, so i know everyone and everyone knows me. I have been with my friends forever becasue I have bben in the school since I was four and wil coninue going here until I am 14. St. John Neumann is the best!!!

As a student of St. John Neumann School, I am proud to say that this school is my second home. I read some reviews, and I am disappointed at one of them. Okay, number one, religion is taught from 1-8 grade. It shows that it's very much important at the school. And there is an excellent sports program. As of October 24, 2008, this school, Saint John Neumann School, is my home away from home!

As of this writing (9/5/08), I have mixed feelings about SJN . I was disappointed to find class sizes exceeding 25 kids, and the lack of leadership from the former principal was frustrating, but she has retired (thankfully). The school is cliquish, but that's the case everywhere. SJN is VERY focused on academics, and the HW can be overwhelming. Be prepared to teach your kids what they didn't understand in class. That said, I'm fine w/this b/c we're looking for a high caliber education, and we're getting it. If you're not committed to your kid's education, put them in public school and roll the dice. You get what you pay for. I like the Catholic environment, and the other parents @ SJN share our values. Our friend in public school envy SJN's closeness & sense of community. Plus, our kids are way ahead of the public school kids (call me elitist).

I was curious to see what others thought of SJN and was quite surprised. Obviously everyone and every child is different. However, speaking from a parent who was very involved in the school and who's child had learning difficulties; I found the school extremely helpful to me and incredibly caring towards my child. I am heartbroken that I have had to seek alternative education for my child. But know this - eventhough the school knew I was leaving - they (more than one teacher) took the time to 'go out' to the school I was interested in on their own time to give me their feed back! Seriously, who does that? Yes, it is a school that focuses on academics - it is a prep school! But for the $, you are certainly getting a bargain! The children that come out of this school are amazing kids. Prepared for HS!

This school does not have a welcoming or happy environment for parents and children. Most of the administration and a few teachers are rude to parents. The discipline is so strict that the overall environment is oppressive. For example, during lunch time if the children are talking they are punished by not having recess/play time. Students are publicly humiliated and shamed as punishment. When it comes to classroom behavior if your child does not fit the 'cookie-cutter mold', as most parents here put it, the school does not want your child in the school. The school only cares about maintaining its' high acadamic achievements - religion, art and music are at the bottom of the list. Parents and children are extremely cliquish. Volunteers are excluded unless they are in the 'in' clique. The school does not have any forum to resolve parent complaints or concerns.

The school will prepare your children extremely well academically. The school year after year wins First place and academic competitions. If you have a child coming into school at or below grade level they will struggle for a while. The school has no athletic program to speak of. The kids eat outside in the heat, rain and cold. The Principal is non-existent. [Many] staff has left this year. Yet, you pay tuition on par with schools that do have all of the above. The kids and parents are extremely cliquish.

When all is said and done, this is a wonderful education for your child. Unfortunately, here is the downside to attending, the teachers are burnt out. The principal is totally nonresponsive to any parental concerns. The fees to attend have more than doubled in the past two years, yet the children still have no enclosed cafeteria and have to eat in the heat as well as the cold and rain. There is so much homework that a child cannot keep up unless he is gifted. The principal puts too much emphasis on advanced programs. Its still better than public school.

SJN is a small friendly school with good teachers in the early years and in the middle shcool years but very lacking in the in between years. The principal does not address parent concerns appropriately and does not require quality in the teachers. The main problem with the school is the leadership from the principal.

I am very proud to have my children attend SJN. The school has high academic standards, sets religious foundations, and provides a great environment for my children. My oldest child was admitted to Columbus without any problems. The school prepares its students for higher levels of education without the students having to struggle. There is a cohesion amongst the parents and a family atmosphere not found in public schools. My children are at a higher academic level than others their age. I am very familiar with with the better public schools and SJN students clearly are taught at a higher level. My children are being taught with a religious background and the focus in on a wholesome upbringing which is not found at other schools. SJN is a great learning environment in all aspects.
