We had a bad experience with the owners of this school. They do not communicate much with the parents, they are very stand offish. Education is good my daughter is way advance for 1st grade and that is the only reason we stayed with the school. Even the teachers give a feeling that they are not happy with management, too sad because it could be a lot better.

From the first time we saw the school, we fell in love with it. Not so many students and we really liked the green, nature setting. Kids can still run and have fun. Our daughter now started public school and is way far ahead academically than many other kids (she probably will skip 1st grade as she is already on 2nd grade level). She loved her teachers and going to school for 3 years at Von Wedel. Staff was great too. We realize now, how advanced she came out and how much they really learned. We already miss her time going to Von Wedel Montessori !!! Thank you Mr. Rene (principal) and the entire team!

This was my son's first year at Von Wedel and I can't believe it's almost over! He's grown so much and always comes home talking about the new things he learned at school that day. Just the other day he told me that he learned to read "ALL by my SELF." He only turned 4 last month and is shocking his grandparents with how well he sounds out his words. Now he's coming home singing songs that he is learning for his graduation show. I can't wait to see him on stage!

This school communicates very poorly with families. My son was enrolled and I had to pull him out temporarily due to his siblings critical illness. They not only failed to communicate that they gave away my son's spot but they kept all the tuition money we paid. They were not apologetic in the least. It seems that they care more about money and accepting as many kids as possible in one tiny space than they do about the families they are there to serve. We had a VERY POOR experience with the administration.

I had my kids in Von Wedel for 2 years and unfortunately we had to move . This has been so far, the best school my kids attend, the excellent teachers, the good leadership of the principal and personalized environment makes the perfect combination for a 100% quality education. You and your child are known for who they are...not just an id number. We miss everybody at Von Wedel !

I m a first-time parent whose 3-year-old just started school for the first time at Von Wedel this fall. I can t say enough about how wonderful the experience has been! My daughter is going to school with a big smile and I m the one crying at goodbye!!! The teachers are super friendly and helpful, and the office has made sure that my introduction to Montessori has been easy on me and my husband. I can t wait for all the holiday events and everything else that s in store for me this year! I m so happy with my decision to enroll at Von Wedel. I felt at home on the day I visited, and now know that my hunch was right!!!

This is my first year at Von Wedel and we are so happy. Our son is learning and growing beautifully. His teacher is remarkable and the assistants are also wonderful! Whenever we arrive at school there is always a sense of warmth which makes us feel so confident that this environment is perfect for his young mind. We are thrilled to have him at this school and we are confident that the influences provided at Von Wedel will help him flourish as he grows.

My son has attended the Von Wedel Montessori for the past 2 years, and I have been very happy with both the standard of care and the challenge that he has received. The staff has always been very kind and gentle with my son. They have supported me in setting important boundaries at home, they highlight that the most rewarding education for children is achieved through an active partnership between home and school, and they place great emphasis on the involvement of parents. The management team has excellent knowledge about the settings strengths and weaknesses and is extremely proactive in monitoring, reflecting and implementing changes for sustained improvement. Most importantly, I have always been certain that he is very safe and well looked at whilst at VW.

I feel extremely privileged to have my child attend Von Wedel. My child is excelling and most importantly loves to learn. He looks forward to going to school and "peace time". Constantly I am overwhelmed by the things he learns and his enthusiasm to share them. I believe Von Wedel treats the child as a whole and nurtures their love of learning. I also very pleased that I am always invited to attend school and participate in arts and crafts projects, reading time, etc.

This is my children's 4th year at Von Wedel. I am not sure if the school is officially accredited as a Montessori School, but this is not important to me. Fact is that the head of the school is a former Von Wedel teacher who is extremely qualified. Changes over the year are for the better overall. Did long-term teachers leave? Yes, however the new administration is now in place since 5 years (I believe) and as in any "business" , changes in staff with change of management is unavoidable. My children also excel academically. Classroom size is still big however this year our classroom has 3 teachers, and it works. The classrooms are big. Von Wedel is also VPK accredited. Improvement in adminstration-parent communication needs to happen. Parents are too much left out and it seems to be intentional.

This will be my second year of my son attending Von Wedel. After looking for a similar or better program in the are and not being able find a better one, we decided to re-enroll him. He has exceled academically and socially and at the tender age of four is already reading at a Kindergarten or 1st. grade level. There were three very well qualified teachers in my child's classroom last year and as far as the office personnel, everytime I had a concern I was treated respectfully. The school's Director is very knowleageable and addressed any of my concerns in a frank and honest manner

This school claims to be a Montessori school, but is not affiliated with any National or international Montessori accreditation association. The number of students per classroom exceeds logic. Multiple well qualified teachers have left over the past two years, which is a very good indication that there are issues at the school. The administration has no background or qualifications in education. Parent's concerns over classroom size are quickly dismissed, although it hardly seems possible that 30 children aged 3-6 could have their individual needs attended to by just 2 people. While most of the staff is pleasant, some members seem rude and unqualified for their positions. Our experience at Von Wedel has not been a positive one. For the price, there are many other local schools that have a much more diversified and fun curriculum.

My child is currently at the Von Wedel Montessori School and doing more than we'd ever imagined. At 4, he is reading as well as his older brother who is 6 and attending another school. I wish I'd have known about Von Wedel before! My neighbors two children also attended Von Wedel and are now top stars in their current gifted classroom.

Von Wedel has lovely class rooms and beautiful grounds. My daughter has done well there and is happy, however I too have noticed a difference in the school since the new ownership. Last year every single principle teacher left and there is a higher student to teacher ratio.

I currently have my child at the Von Wedel and although the academic level is excellent (considering that my child is not even 5 and is already reading an writing well above her age expected level) and my child is happy, I do have to say that the ratio of child per teacher is too high. There are around 35 children in a classroom with only 1 teacher and 1 assistant, the ages ranges from 3 to 5 years old. I also know for a fact that the new administration do not responds well to parents criticism.

Von Wedel used to be a great school, back when they cared about teacher student ratio and the children's well been. There where never more than 8 students per teacher on the pre-k. Back when we first registered our kid we felt very lucky to get a place after been on the waiting list. They didn't accept more than 24 kids per class and they had one certified Montessori teacher and 2 assistants per class. These days everyone who comes check in hand get in, currently they have 2 pre-k classes with 1 teacher and 1 assistant on each class. One class has 29 students, the other has 36. We had to pull or kid out mid year. After the change in ownership the school has lost everything. I wouldn't trust the current administration with my dog, let alone my child.

My child attended Von Wedel for 2 years prior to even beginning pre-k, then he was selected by lottery for one of the most reputable, top bilingual schools in Miami. However, he was so advanced with his reading and math skills, most of which I attribute to the amazing early training, compared to the other children in the pre-k that the teacher gave him his own set of advanced work through out the year. So, at least for kindergarten, we are back at this wonderful Montessori, where I know my child is receiving the highest level of personalized attention and academics possible. In addition, the premises is beautiful, along with a huge playground and farm animals.
