After visiting many schools I walked into Killian Oaks Academy and found understanding, compassion, and the expertise to help our family. My son was beginning to give up and Killian Oaks has returned his confidence and sense of self-worth. He is now above level in all academic areas. His teachers are wonderful, the administration is approachable and always go beyond the call of duty. Together they have helped him blossom socially and academically. Gratitude cannot begin to express how valuable Killian Oaks Academy is to our son and to our family.

Killian Oaks Academy has an extraordinary academic program. My daughter is so proud of herself. She is now reading, and reads everywhere we go, from streert signs to menus in restaurants. Killian Oaks has helped her discover the joy of learning and we are so happy. Their focus on helping each child discover the gift within has helped my child believe in herself and trust the world again.

My children love going to school everyday! Killian Oaks Academy nurtures then spiritually and challenges them academically. As a teacher myself, I appreciate their multi-modal approach where information is presented to my son and daughter according to their unique learning styles. My children's study skills have thrived. They have learned how to highlight important facts, write outlines, summarize information and study for tests. Their scores and abilities continue to improve. Thank you Killian Oaks Academy!

Killian Oaks Academy helped my son to overcome his learning and attentional difficulties. He is now attending the Dual Enrollment program in college and receving straight A's. He learned how to study and how to organize himself at KOA. The administration and staff have been a part of our family for the past 11 years. I am so greatful for the loving guidance and support our son and family continue to receive.

Let's be clear and specific what is really true. In my experience of sending my son there for the past years, it was yet a success. We went all over the place to find the right school for his learning disability and we did a huge leap on finding Killian Oaks Academy. The classroom environment is superb, yet the faculty changes within every month. I'll be realistic on what is really there and what is not for your future references. Education wise, based on 1-on-1 attention it is to the fullest. However, it is not quite a preparation for college. AP/Honor classes there are regular classes in a traditional high school. The after school activities are ridiculous, its not like anywhere else that the student could create his/her own club such as Glee club. You have to pay just to enter a club, when everywhere else is just signing up and walk in. For example, one of the clubs is only half an hour for an insane price that is not even worth the time. When it comes to exams, they give you what will be on the test, not actual studying experience. They say more than what they do in general. Creativity is against the rules there. Great for K-8. Not any further.

Killian Oaks Academy pushed me and I go there! I am graduating from U.M. thanks to K.O.A. Killian Oaks helped me develop my orgnizatonal ans study skills, and above all, my belief in myself. The administration encouraged me to participate in the Dual Enrollmen Program and I saw how I could attend college under K.O.A.'s menorship. I am grateful for their guidance, support, and exceptional program.

Killian Oaks Academy awakened my son and daughter's true potential and helped them excel academically. We were frustrated by the many labels we heard such as dyslexic, dyscalculic, dysgraphic, and ADD. We knew our children were very intelligent and could learn. Killian Oaks Academy supported us as parents and focussed on developing our children's many abilities. They helped them realize their true potential. Our children are happy and confident. Thank you for all you do everyday.

KOA was a breath of fresh air for our son! When he was in kindergarten, our son experienced a few delays. Unfortunately, the school he was in did not believe in accommodating his learning in any way, so we had to find a place that would work with him and honor his style of learning at his pace. At kinder he was coming home with "Fs" and very depressed. We visited many schools, in spending just one day at KOA, our son was a completely different person. He was happy, confident, and excited to do school work. That's all it took. Today, many years later, our son is doing great and heading off to high school. We are greateful for KOA.

This school is amazing. My child is in the hands of the most professional and loving educators in all Miami. As soon as you walk into the school you know that you are surrounded by a family. Every effort is taken to ensure that each parent and student knows that they are part of a special community. Each teacher works together with the principal to make sure that each child reaches their fullest potential.

After last month s curriculum night, there is no doubt in my mind that we have selected the prefect school for our son. There are many schools in the community that offer a program to meet the needs of children with different learning styles, but none have the professionalism and loving touch that Killian Oaks has. The teachers are trained with the most current research available and the school is up to date with the available technology to enhance student learning. I was impressed with their presentations and how the teacher is able to create an individualized plan for each of their students. The one on one education provided by this school is impressive.

Killian Oaks Academy is the best school in helping students identify their abilities. Before my child entered this wonderful school, he was lost. But Killian Oaks discovered my child s gifted potential through their methodical approach. Through their structured and patterned approach, my son experiences daily success. Together with the parents, everyone works together in such a beautiful way and they truly care for one another.

As a parent who had a student for an extended period of time at Killian Oaks Academy, I want to address a comment that their was unusual teacher turnover at the school. That conclusion is not supported by the facts. As one who is familar with how the school operates, the administration expects a lot from the teachers and the teachers deliver. Teaching in such a school requires continual effort, skill, planning and devotion which is present in all of the current staff. Those few who have left reflect an unwillingness to meet the school's rigorous standards for teacher perfoprmance.

The teacher turnover rate is so high! The administration does not treat their employees well at all. The teachers are excellent, but the leadership lacks in all aspects. It seems like they have no idea what is going on and they are not at all professional. I'd look elsewhere...

The study skills you taught me have helped me to succeed. Througout our conversatins you taught us that our lives would be defined by the choices that we make. Thank you for those conversations when I needed them, I graduacted from college with honors.

Killian Oaks Academy helped our daughter discover her many abilities and gifts. My husband and I were discouraged by all the labels; dyslexic, dysgraphic, and A.D.H.D. Killian Oaks let us know that the word "ability" can be found in "disablity." They focused on her learning style. She now enjoys reading, writes fabulous stories and loves school. She adores her teachers and principal. She has leaned how to develop and keep friends.K.O.A. nurtures and mentores us through the parenting process. Our daughter is happy and we are looking forward to another rewarding year.

"I can't wail until tomorow to be in school again!" This is what my daughter said when I picked her up. It brought tears of joy to my eyes. She's happy, she is being challenged to reach for the stars, and she has discovered success. Thank you Killian Oaks for helping my daughter enjoy the learning process. God bless you!

We were wandering aimlessly, hoping to find the answer for our son's academic struggles. We visited countless schools, and although we heard all the "right" things, we did not feel them. It is so hard to trust others with the care of your child. When we walked into Killian Oaks Academy and met with the administration, a sense of peace engulfed us. After eight years, and two students at Killian Oaks, I can only pray that others are lucky enough to discover a school that nurtures and protects the entire family. Thank you is not enough.

As another fantastic year at Killian Oaks Academy concludes, I would like to share the outstanding progress that my son continues to make. Three years ago we arrived frustrated from another school. My gifted son was performing below grade level, particularly in reading. Killian Oaks recognized his potential and created an individually customized program that understood and captured his interest and energy. After three years with a great administrative and academic team, he is performing two to three years ABOVE LEVEL in all subjects. For parents of students who are struggling like I was, I encourage you to put your faith and trust in Killian Oaks Academy. Killian Oaks was the answer to my prayers.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
