My 1 star review is for preschool. Too many students per teacher/TA. One teacher and two teacher assistants for 30 kids of mixed ages(3-6) is not enough. If you have a 3 year old in this program, good luck. Your poor child will be at the mercy of the older kids (who are not being watched bc there are not enough teachers). Empathy is lacking among students and every teacher I have dealt with has at one point bad mouthed the school and director. Do not fall for the gimmicks. You've been warned. Need more proof? Check out their Facebook page for a picture from the 50 year gala. There is a picture with staff and parents and one person is making an extremely offensive hand gesture with the school logo in the background. Seriously? Awful experience and complete lack of professionalism all around.

Perhaps your experience will differ, but it shouldn't: Alexander is a fantastic school and provided a great foundation for our daughter. Yellow Door in particular has been an ideal environment where we've seen our child come alive, with a love of learning, individual expression and sense of wonder of the world around her. We highly recommend Alexander Montessori School / Old Cutler Road Campus and the excellent, caring staff and administrators.

Our child attended Pre-K 3 and 4 at another school. We like the Montessori philosophy and teaching method and the best part for us was how each child can learn and grow at their own pace. During our interview we noticed how every child was involved and focused doing their lessons and how the teachers and staff operated. Needless to say we were very impress. Now that we ve been part of Alexander Montessori since the summer we can tell you it really is a fantastic school. Our child has made so much progress; the difference was noticeable within a couple of weeks. Our child is doing math, reading and is eager to learn and enjoys every moment spent there. The teachers are FANTASTIC, GREAT AND VERY NURTURING AND CARING. They have lots of extracurricular activities for the kids (all ages). All the materials and books are included in the tuition. If you are home reading reviews on this web site please allow yourself the opportunity to visit the school and do your homework before making a decision. The other reviews almost discouraged us from visiting and considering Alexander Montessori; it would have been an enormous mistake.

I agree with previous reviewer, awful experience for parent and child. Administration focused more on money and outward appearance than the needs of the child. Expensive mistake!

A truly awful experience for our child, which was compunded by poor leadership. The administration appears to be primarily interested in making money and less interested ina first class education. Definitely not worth the premium price we paid.

Our son attended Alexander for fourth and fifth grades. The teachers are warm, they communicate and are always available to help the children. Our son was lost in public school, which is why we pulled him out and put him in Alexander. Not only did he love Alexander, but he was turned on to school and learning because of the caring and attention he received at Alexander. Also, the administration is attentive to all the children and the sports activities at school are a big plus.

A truly awful experience for preschoolers compunded by inept administrators. If you want to pay a lot of money and have your child become a drone at the end of the school year this is the school for you. There are better alternatives available.

Excellent school! This is the best Montesorri program in South Miami. Good student/teacher ratio and wide range of subjects available to help develop your child's potential. Only drawback is the cost.

My niece who's now 9 years old have being going to this school since she was 5 years old. The Alexander school is a school where children needs come always first. Each child is encouraged individually to meet their age required educational standards. The teachers are highly skilled and work hard with each child. The principal is kind and knows every child individually. Students are happy and show self confidence at all levels giving them what they need to go out into the world! ' The school atmosphere is great. There is a superb cultural curriculum with art and music and sport being highlited at all times.
