My son has been going to this school since kinder. It's a small school where everyone including the admin staff knows your child's name as well as yours. Love the school. Son had done really well.

Our school has an AMAZING gifted program. They do incredible hands-on projects. Their ESE program is outstanding. They really work hard to help the child grow to be independent learners.

My son did start this year for the fisrt time on this school 2 nd Grade and he does love it, great teachers, the facilities are big and clean, the teacher gave him a lot of homework but I do prefer this than not homework, additionally the school offers extra classes called PTA which are wonderfull because the kids can choose what topic or sport do they want to practice after school hours. The do have also fair books and a lot of activies for the kids. Love the school not complaint at all.

Most of the teachers in this school are mean and rude. This school has a very cold and unfriendly environment. As a parent, I am not happy with the teachers (who are not helpful), the office staff is not pleasant, and the administration is never to be seen. I'm putting my child in a charter school this year.

At the begining I was not too comfortable with the school... but as time went by I noticed how interested my 9 year old became towards education... The teachers are very attentive and keep parents informed. I made the right decision moving them to Kendale Elementary! :0)

Administration and faculty work together to create a fun and creative learning environment! Small school so the students are all well known. Children are well prepared for the next step and beyond.

Not sure what to compare this school with? If I compare it to the worst school then its a great school but if I compare it to the best then there is a lot to be desired. Very little creativity and innovation. Wastes time with silly stuff and then teachers say they don't have time to go outside the box. Leadership lacks passion, motivation, and making learning fun.

As a parent of a 1st grader, I am happy with the overall education my daughter is receiving. I feel the teachers are in tune with each student s progress in the class. The on-line home learning programs such as river deep and www.learning.com are both fun and educational. I do feel that the school is lacking on the availability of program such as art, music and physical education. This is a vital component of a child s overall well being. All in all, the school is great! - Yolanda Morsy

Kendale Lakes is the greatest school ever! I'm not a parent, but I am a former student that moved. I was really upset when we moved for one main reason: Kendale Lakes was simply too great to give up. The principal is awesome, and at Kendale Lakes I had tons of friends, including the teachers. I don't know who my favorite teacher is because they were all great, and, the gifted program was so good. Now that we moved and I go to a school in Atlanta, GA, my mom and I realized how good this school is. If you were to compare this school to another one in Georgia, Kendale Lakes Elemenaty is 500% better.

About the tests

Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
