LOVE THIS SCHOOL! Three years in and still proud to have my son attend Pinecrest Academy South. The Principal and Assistant Principal really care about the students. The administrative staff may appear to be strict and not allow parents to break the rules but their main concern in the safety of the students and I appreciate that. The teachers are very caring with the students and send emails to keep parents informed of what is going on in the classroom. They also encourage parents to be involved and participate so they can get to know the school. I could not be more pleased with the school.

I am very happy with this school. They recently implemented a gifted program and have given the students the opportunity to try different things such as Robotics!

Teachers believe they are entitled here and are beyond snobby. Principal send out mass email warning parent to not park in a teachers parking spot and to carpool instead. There are only around 4parent parking spots in the entire school. If your kid is in before or after care you have to park. Administration has a horrible attitude, treat parents like garbage. Will be taking daughter out.

My daughter was accepted mid year to Pinecrest South from the #1 charter school around the area. All I can say is, what a change! The atmosphere around campus is so positive. I was hesitant on changing schools mid year and my daughter be the "new girl." Instead of some backlash, all I got was positive reinforcements. She actually liked doing her homework, waking up in the mornings to go to school. The staff is excellent from Adela & Ms. Jackie in morning care to THE best 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Lopez. All I can say is what a welcomed change. Looking forward to the next school year!

This school has made a big difference in my grandson's lfe, in every way. He is an A's only student now, he participates in all their activities, sports, music, he is an advance reader, good at math, excellent friend (loyal, sharing , big helper), you see this at Pinecrest. Teachers and all the staff know and work closely with each one of the students. Cheer and guide them when needed. His parents and me love this school!

I am very disappointed with this school. There are very few good teachers and administration staff is rude. The assistant principle is unsupportive and arrogant. The only good thing I have to say about this school is that my child enjoys the fun activities.... Other than that it is horrible!

PAC is an amazing school! The administration and teachers are well equipped and dedicated to making every student shine. As soon as you walk into the main office, you encounter a wonderful sense of community! I feel very blessed that my three children have an opportunity to be part of such a great school. Go Pirates!

Pinecrest Academy South is a wonderful school with great staff, administration and faculty! I am glad to have my children in a school where they are academically challenged and LEARNING! The so called "cold read" tests have been around since the school opened and there has never been an issue with them before. I have one child that struggles wtih the "Cold Read" tests and my other child does not. I want my children to be challenged and be proivded with the opportunity for growth and Pinecrest Academy South provides that and much more for my children. I have been a parent at this school for five years and have nothing but wonderful things to say! Mrs. Cangemi is a great principal and is always willing to listen and the administration is very CONSCIOUS and concerned with the children of the school!

I am surprised that a parent of Pinecrest Academy can make such a bad comment about the school and the administration. My child has been at that school since kindergarden and I am very happy with the staff and the school. As a matter of fact I was one of the first mom that talk to the principal on Tuesday in regards to the Cold Reading Tests and I am very gratefull of the way she treated us and that she took her time (with me in particular about 1 hour) to hear our concerns. We just showed up at the school without an appoitment and she saw us all. I know she will help our kids and overall we are HAPPPY that we have a principal like Mrs. Cangemi. Those parent that couldn't see her that day are still making appoitments and meeting with her at the moment.

We used to be very happy at Pinecrest Academy South, however today after more than forty parents protested in front of the administration office and we saw the way we were treated, we truly believe that the administration should be removed and replace for a more conscious one. I do not think that the principal is concern about the psychological welfare of the students. I think that the parents should take this to the local news and to the district, children and taxpayers should not be treated like this. We have the right to have our concerns validated.

academically very good school, however they should have better extra curricular activities, like dance, instruments, swimming (at least in another campus), because they only offer little extra curricular activities and you have to look for them outside school. the principal is excelent, however they should have a more younger and active person at the reception,

I love Pinecrest Acadamy (South Campus) because the teachers, the staff, the students and their parents are all a big family that works very hard. We are very strong. We have the whole world in our side. We make everyone that belongs to our family feel that there is something worthwhile in them. We are optimistic, work and expect only the best. We are enthusiastic about the success of every student. We learn from our mistakes. We are cheerful, we try everyday to improve our school. We have no worries, no fear. We think the world of our school and proclaim this in amazing deeds.

I think PAC is a great school! I agree with all the parents that have written here. The principal is amazing and so is the stuff, but I have to say the people who do dismissal work their but off! I think with out their helo dismiss would be horrible and the kids love them. My son is in K/1 and I must say its been wonderful.

This is my sons first year at Pinecrest Academy and I must say, I am thankful for the opportunity he received to be part of this excellent school with amazing teachers like Mrs. Valencia (Kindergarden). My son has learned alot and enjoys going to school. The staff in this school are well organized Students are cared for and they focus on bettering their education and discipline. I feel comfortable taking my son to school since I feel he is well taken care of and safety is a main priority for the school. Thanks to the staff for their hard work at Pinecrest Academy...

Since the new principal came to pinecrest the school has really made a turn around. The parents are more involved and the principal really seems to care about the students. Something that the previous one did not really have. Principal Nunez is fantastic. Hope she stays around and the previous one stays away!!!

This is the first year for my children in Pinecrest and I must say that I am very happy with the school and the teachers. My children came from MOC, a private school and they have less children in their classrooms are Pinecrest than they did at a private school. Their teachers are very caring and dedicated. My children have embraced this school and have adapted better than I could of ever imagined. Both of them are currently on the Honor Roll. Thank You Mrs. Perez, Mrs. Collera, and Mrs. Kline for making my children so happy..I could have never asked for better teachers or a better school.

This the first time my daughter attends Pinecrest Academy. She was previously at MOC. Because of financial reason I was forced to move her to another school. And I thank God I was informed by the principal about Pinecrest. I feel secure and extremely honored to that my daughter was accepted to this school. The teachers are excellent and the office staff are very helpful and always anxious to help. I rate Pinecrest Academy A++. Thank you Mrs. Melissa Perez for being all you can be we really appreciate your attention.

So far administration good, drop-off & pick-up--awful, needs big time improvement, ASAP. Teachers, not bad. My child has been there for 4 yrs now and I just have one complain about teachers. They should talk to the parents on where their student left off academically before summer so if improvement is needed they can catch-up. Teachers need to inform parents more and keep them up-to-date, All Around. I always have asked for a parent- teacher conference and everything is fine. So I thought. Beware. Just as the school is successful I want my child to be successful as well in everything.

This will be my childs 2nd yr at Pincrest Academu SC. I really like the school and the teachers. They are caring and nice and have an eagerness to help children. Unfortunately, I cannot say that about the principal. She does not care about the kids only her own benefit.

My son attended this school for 2nd grade during the 2005-2006 school year. I was extremely disappointed with the administrative staff, including the principal, who were very inexperienced, aloof and ignorant of how to properly manage a quality school. I am glad I pulled my son out as fast as I could.

Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
