My son is autistic and goes to Bent Tree elementary. Regarding the autistic program I have to say it is good, but not enough. As parent of an autistic children I think they need more exposure to other children and have more activities where they can interact more. Ms. Aliaga is very sweet and caring. the aftershool staff is all very nice. I have no complains. Doris is great and the security Ramona is great.
My biggest concern would have to be the safety of the children. I feel that the safety of the children should be taken seriously.
My just entered his first year in the public school system, in Aug. 2006. I met with the principal in March of 2006 and toured the school before knowing that our son would be safe and most of all happy in his new school. The teachers are great, in fact, he is already reading at a first grade level. The faculty is very friendly and cafeteria staff as well. I am very satisfied with it and take much pride in saying my son attends the school!
My child has been at this school for 4 years, I think the teachers are the best around, the gifted classes are unbeatable along with the teachers. However i think the current principal lacks involvement in student & parent relations. I think she need to get involved!
My kid loves the school. Learning English everyday! Love teachers, Nice people, good people. The teachers care about the kids learning and doing the best they can. Try! Practice, Try again and focus, you are smart, I know you can do it! They help parents remember that when we give time to learning then our kids care about learning and learning becomes part of everyday life. Very good people in office, very nice teachers, english learning very good, art is very nice, my son will be an artist speak english and very happy. Im very happy to. I practice, with my son. Good school.
Love the staff, and teachers. Everyone has been very helpful and friendly. Teachers are professional and meetings have proven to be effective and geared towards assisting child to reach full academic growth.
I love all the teachers that my kids have had. They have been helpful and provided plenty of feedback. The school is clean, the resources are incredible. The team for children learning English are caring and responsible. I am grateful for their guidance. I am grateful my kids have had such a positive influence and experience.
I'm proud of my children and their accomplishments. These teachers (especially the new ones that I just met) find motivating, fun, and interesting ways of reaching out to my kids. It's been an incredible year and our transition to a new school was wonderful!
I really like the school and staff. Resource Teachers and our child's grade level work as a team. Help was available and guidance was very much a plus. We were new to this country and it hasn't been easy adjusting. We as parents are not perfect but we accepted their expertise as support to help our child succeed and it makes a world of difference.
We have 3 children in this school. It has been a positive experience. The teachers have been wonderful and acknowledge that every child has the potential to learn. Resources are professional and available (ask and you'll find it). I encourage parents to get involved, be positive and remember these professionals are here to help our children succeed in life. Don't wait until something goes wrong to become part of your child's education. Start from day one. Be part of the education team they are professional and have experience to help our kids. My kids overcame their obstacles with the school's help. The new principal is caring and dedicated. Her door is always opened. Start from day one helping not complaining, be positive and involved.
This school is a zoo. The principal clearly is not able to control the students. I recently visited the cafeteria and was shocked at the chaos during kindergarten lunch. My children have experience racism which the principal does nothing about and the staff is under educated. Don't bother with the A rating the school is horrible. Teachers don't communicate with parents and the principal thinks her 20 years of experience excuses her from addressing safety issues. Bad choice.
My Son started this year in the public school system. I think Bent tree has made an easy transition for him, His teacher is an excellent person and caring. Always concern and willing to work as a team with him and us the parents. The Principal is always involved, likewise the counselors. I truly believe that the education my son is given at Bent Tree is outstanding.
