Working here gives me hope for the future. It's wonderful to see such a loving, intimate learning environment. Unlikely friendships flourish, students get the attention that they need from their teachers, and bullying is not tolerated. The principal is truly involved, and that makes all the difference.

I had have had difficulty posting a response on the principal's page so my only alternative was to utilize this forum. Facts about MMS: 1. MMS has never accepted one child previously expelled from another school. 2. At the end of this academic year MMS is projected to have an excess of $100,000 as capital in its account. 3. No school in Alachua or Marion county can verify a lower incident number than MMS. 4. MMS is a 'B' school. It was #23 in the top 100 middle schools in writing improvement for 2005-2006 according to Gov. Bush. The adverse statements made by the parent on this web site shows the depth of vacuousness while it concomitantly display heghts of insidiousness intermingled with impetuosity and at best is peppered with half truths and lies. These statements by the parent in 2004 shows that they are clueless to the operation of MMS.

My son is in his second year. We are both very happy there. He was not expelled from any schools and is not a problem child. I love the small school atmosphere and i feel this is going to get him ready for high school. Every one there is wonderful. I hate that he has to move on next year, but kids do grow up!!

You should be aware that most of the children at MMS have been sent here after being expelled from public schools from Gainesville to Ocala. Unfortunately, the school has neither the trained staff nor the financial means to provide for these children. They cannot provide for the special needs of ADD students even to the level that is required by law. Although there is a small number of students, there is a great deal of bullying and peer pressure of the most injurious kind.
