My son attended Pinewood for kindergarten and most of first grade. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience there. The school was excellent about keeping parents involved. I feel as if they have excellent technology available considering the small size of the school. I was very pleased with the teacher-to-student ratio as well. My son was also able to be involved with extracurricular activities, as they have many available to the kids. I also was very impressed with the emphasis placed on science and 'green' living. Great school! We miss Pinewood!

FCAT scores tell you all you need to know. Excellent teachers, especially the third grade team, what a great score in reading over 80% two years in a row. Clearly one of the best kept secrets in the Brevard School system.

The entire staff at Pinewood - from the Principal to the support staff- makes this an extraordinary school. The Music and Art teachers are dedicated to fostering a love of learning. Watch them interact with any class and you will see their passion. There aren't really any behavioral issues because we maintain a small town attitude, and honestly, the students are led by people of great character. The teachers are more than educators; they are role models, teaching through example. Parents are encouraged to get as involved as much as they desire or are able. Sincere efforts are made to involve parents and to encourage everyone to volunteer, whether at the school or from home. The administration is approachable and genuinely has the best interest of each student at heart. No child is left behind at Pinewood, and every child is encouraged to use his or her talents to the fullest.

Pinewood is an excellent school with an 'A' rating from Florida. My 5 year old daughter is just finishing her first year of Kindergarten there. She loves the school. My wife and I love the teachers and staff. As part of an Education course I took at the local college, I spent 13 hours doing classroom observations at Pinewood. I observed most grades K-6. I also observed Art, Music, and PE classes. All were wonderful. I did not find a single issue I could find fault with. I would recomment Pinewood to any parent.

Pinewood elementary is an awesome hometown school...I have had the opportunity to work within the school in several areas, including interning, substitute teaching and volunteering. The faculty, staff, and administration are first-rate! I always feel welcomed and comfortable in this school. The students are well mannered and it is a great community school.
