Two teacher conferences later and my daughter is still not advanced. By the way the the principal is grossly unavailable for a conference of any kind, so the next course of action is to call the school board.
My daughter is the 1st gradel and her teacher does not work with her. My child has very little issue reading at home but the state test questions are grossly unsuitable to her reading level or, for that matter, any first grader. Get a much better way to switch my child to a teacher who will actually advance her without complaints. Also, the teacher seems to be leaning on these "state" tests to further her excuses to not work on advancing my daughter's reading and comprehension level.
This learning community has a great history and a wonderful future. The office staff and guidance counselor are very caring and compassionate individuals. They are very accommodating and courteous. They also have a great sense of humor. The principal, Ms. Schlissel, is a sweetheart and a true professional administrator. She cares about the students and wants all of them to succeed. The teachers are a "family" and work together for the benefit of the students. This school is a blessing to the community and to the families it serves!
