As a former educator and grandmother of a student at Montessori at Roseborough I want to add my personal note of recommendation and thanks to all the staff. Incredible teachers, administrators, indeed the entire staff, is caring and extremely effective in teaching the students much much more than the academic basics of other schools. If you are looking for a school which will excel at teaching your child, and truly caring for them then this is truly the school of choice. My granddaughter has enjoyed the fun teaching style and the character building style of fun social times with other students. Art, music, dance, and social events are not forgotten in this school. Academically, my granddaughter and all the children I have seen are superior because of this school. I'm not a test crazed educator but from what I have witnessed this school would be at the top of schools in academically preparing their students.

I love the Montessori philosophy but was completely turned off by this school. The director was rude and snobby, the place felt like a cold institution as opposed to a warm learning environment..Unfortunate

This is really a wonderful school. I've had two children here for 5 years now, starting at age 1 1/2. All the teachers are great, and the classroom materials are top notch. Don't be put off by the exterior of the school and grounds, its what happens everyday in the classroom that matters. The school has a close-knit family atmosphere, my kids know the names of everyone at the school. If you are going to commmit to Montessori, educate yourself on the philosophy and don't compare your kid to those in traditional school. I do think it works best for kids who are really enthusiastic about school and are self starters, but all the children seem to thrive. If you're going to put your child in the primary class, its best to start them off early (2 1/2-3) and give them 3 years in the class to get the full benefit.

This is an amazing school that follows the true Montessori method. It gives young children a strong concrete foundation for math, science, reading, writing, the love of learning. and following a task from initiative through completion. The teachers are very passionate about what they do and understand the child's sensitive learning periods to a science.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
