As a parent we were looking for a school that was effective in all areas and we believe that begins with an institutions leadership. Strong educators, teacher character, student safety, employee morale, and love for community is pretty hard to get all wrapped in one package, but with prayer and discernment we we blessed to find MDCA. One of our main "selling points" was the open door policy from the President all the way down to individual teachers, I love how accessible they are for us to voice our opinion or concern regarding anything we feel necessary.
I feel that MDCA teachers are qualified not only to teach the highest standards in curriculum but go above and beyond that in the classroom everyday. My students are flourishing academically in this amazing environment.
Teachers realize that there is a balance between homework and time spent in the evenings with family. Teacher communications with parents throughout the week about homework assignments and test days gives us as parents the ability to plan our week accordingly.
If the saying is true "you are only as strong as your weakest leader", then how blessed we feel as parents that MDCA has a core group of strong leaders who undoubtedly have my children's best interest always at the forefronts of their minds. They are not only approachable and available, but communication is always open between parents, faculty, and administration.
Character such as integrity, compassion and respect all begin at home, however MDCA does a great job of partnering with parents in building upon these characteristics while at school. Students have incredible opportunities throughout the school year to show Christ in our community. Individual leadership roles for both male and female students in and out of the classroom are plentiful.
MDCA teachers are solid in their abilities to teach rigorous curriculum, with heart and dedication. They stand behind their students every challenging assignment along the way, cheering them on in their efforts while building their character and self esteem. Teachers at MDCA are nothing short of amazing, our children are more blessed than they realize to have the ability to be taught by such incredible people.
MDCA has a strong administration who has laid a foundation of preventative strategies in striving to be a bully free school. By emphasizing that our community is truly family, united in one spirit for the same purpose inclines students to want to draw closer to one another in building lasting friendships through a common bond.
Mount Dora Christian Academy has given all three of our children an opportunity to learn and grow not just in an academic setting, but spiritually, artistically, and through extra-curricular activities. Teachers at MDCA pour love into our children daily and are deeply invested in our children's success. We have only attended for two years and have experienced the teachers, staff and administration to be supportive, encouraging, available, understanding and kind. I also love that MDCA welcomes parental involvement on any level. I believe that Mount Dora Christian Academy stands behind their mission statement in “Educating for Life and Eternity” as I have witnessed my children strive to become more like Christ in both the classroom and at home. MDCA is preparing my kids for college and most importantly giving them a foundation for helping and serving others.
