Two of my children have been or are in this school and even though we moved, I still drive to keep them in this school. The teachers and administration have always done a wonderful job with the students and parents. Could not ask for a better school.
Most of the teachers there are good, with the exception of a few. There are some teachers that intimidate the children and are very rude. Therefor the students are not allowed to speak in class and are even afraid to ask questions. One time my daughter was watching a movie and when it ended the teacher was texting on her phone, ignoring the fact that the movie had finished. It was not until the end of class that the teacher noticed that the movie had ended and then had to rush the students to finish their work. This would not have happened if the teacher had put her phone away, as it should have been, and paid more attention to the class. The ladies in the front office are not helpful at all; their service is horrible! Every time I go in they ignore I am there and stare at each other to see who will help me. When someone finally gets up they seem nice at first, but instantly their attitude changes; becoming very rude, and unwilling to help. They are the first impression of the school and from what I have experienced they are not setting a very good one. They should be more helpful, courteous, and have a better attitude toward the parents and students.
Now six foot fence has arrived and parents are told to park somewhere else at a private campus, ave maria university and cross a street while walking with kids after school. And tickets are given and threats are made by collier county parks and rec staff if parents don't move off grass for five minutes while waiting for students. Love this school....Hate the pick-up process for walking students. An entire parking lot sits empty as parents are harrassed.
I totally disagree. The front office staff has been totally warm & helpful, not just my children. I have made a special effort to be around every am at dropoff & in previous years various times of day. The principals have handled many situations we've encountered w/compassion & true concern. A big problem exists in this society today where parents feels the need to place all responsibiity on the parents. The biggest detriment my kids face is the kids who feel they can never learn to respect authority and others. It is a parents responsibiity to teach their children to respect others & show them to truly love learning. The world is not perfect & we all need to work together- parents & teachers- to help them achieve their true potential in life. Spend some true time at this school & you will see how truly patient these teachers are.
My experience with this school has been somewhat different, & maybe it is b/c my child went there on school choice. My child was used as a 'fill-in' meaning they just stuck her in a class that was not equally ratio weither boys to girls or in race. The children had difficulty in keeping their hands to themselves. The teacher had trouble keeping her class under control. Front office staff very cold, and unfriendly. administration (vice principal lacking in communication skills.) This school lets the kindergarteners walk to and from class (in pairs) by them selves unsupervised. and they are not concerned in the least.
My daughter just graduated from the 5th grade gifted class. Previously she was in private French schools in Europe. I can only say that the Vineyards was her most enriching and rewarding scholastic experience to date. Her teachers all gave 110% and truly cared! We will miss being part of the 'Vineyard's Family' !
Practical suggestions: 1 A six foot fence should encircle the entire campus 2 Video surveillance cameras should monitor entrance points 24/7 3 Administration Office should have more visual connection to campus 4 School board/principal have limited 'open door' communications policy.School Management skills need to tought to all management.
I love the Vineyards school in Naples Florida. My daughter is a 4th grader new to Vineyards this year and she has a wonderful teacher and likes the school very much. Being new she has had some small struggles but is finding the staff and administration helpful and welcoming. We think this school is wonderful. I look foreward to a good 4th and 5th grade and its expiriences for both my daughter and our family.
The teachers are willing to go the extra mile for your children and stay on top of things, not just push them through like most schools. Also, two good after school programs, Pat's kids club and sports camp, if you need to pick up your children late. We've used both!
I love this school. The teachers are great. They have great child safety measures. The library resources they have are great as well. I would highly recommend.
I have to say that this school is top of the line. My daughters teachers are very into safety and security. They always use the buddy system in the halls or whereever they children go. I am very pleased with the cirriculum and after school program they have for the children of working parents.
While I noticed numerous differences in teaching style and the school in general, compared to schools on the west coast, I have been happy overall. The teachers are caring and truly give 100%. The teachers helped me get the extra help one of my sons needed, and always made him feel like he could succeed. We will miss Vineyards next year. (moving)
My son is in 1st grade this year. This is our first year in public school as he went to private school for kindergarten. I am very pleased so far (even though it has only been 3 weeks into the new school year). Have heard nothing but praise for this school and the entire staff.
Vineyards Elementary is a great school. My son was struggling, and his 4th grade teacher noticed what was going on and they got help for him immediately to get him caught up. My daughter just loves the school and her teachers. The staff in the office are real nice, and so are all of the teachers.
