I went here when I was in elementary school and itnwas the best time of my life. The teachers dont try to put the students first, they do put them first.
The staff and students at Locke are the best! I am a former teacher at Locke, and will always hold a special place in my heart for everyone there! There is no better place than Locke to foster friendships, success and a stellar education than Locke Elementary. Highly recommended, way to go, and keep up the good work. I miss you all! If you are a Locke Eagle, you are among the best!
I believe the entire staff at Locke Elementary puts the children first. It is a pleasure to see children as well as staff with smiles on their faces. It is a warm fuzzy school.
congratulations to Mittye P. Locke's Gifted Program, their teachers, Ms. Washington and Mrs. Foster and the kids of In Your Dreams Odyssey of the Mind!! This is truly a unique and talented group. Mittye P. Locke should be proud to have such caring and devoted teachers as these two! They have coached these 7 kids to be 1st place winners at the Regional and State levels! They are going on to Boulder, Co in May for the WORLD FINALS of Odyssey of the Mind Competition!! Over 30 countries will be competing!! WAY TO GO!! I am a proud parent and volunteer of one of the kids and of this program!!
Mitye P. Locke Elementary school is a great school considering its size. There are almost 900 students grades pre-K through fifth grade. I feel we have wonderful, dedicated teachers who really care and nurture our students.
My son has been at MPLE for 4 years, since kindergarden and he is now in 3rd grade. We are pleased with the teacher's and how they help our son acheive his goals. There is great communication from the teachers and updates on his day everyday. All of my son's past teachers are still interested in how he is doing. The only negative things about the school are the PTA(low parent involvement)and the specials program (art, music, and P.E.) more could be done in that field. It just seems like a babysitting time and a break time for the teachers.
I am very pleased with the school. Very hard working Teachers!
