Cypress Elementary has been an absolute nightmare for my children and for me to deal with. The standing VP for the last several years is condescending when speaking to parents, and intimidates children. I had to remove both of my children from Cypress due to frequent staff changes and inappropriate conduct with my children.

We have been at Cypress for 7 years and are very happy with the academic and social aspects. We have 3 children and are extremely happy. Two of our children have special needs and the staff is amazing with their care! We would recommend this school fully.

this is our 3rd year at cypress with my older daughter. due to where we live, she was transferred for her needs for some of her individual educational plan goals and our zoned school does not allow this. i only wish the district would allow her sister to go to this school as well. this is a wonderful school and I am currently trying to find a place to rent in the zone for cypress so that both girls may finish out their elementary education in this school. it has exceeded my expectations in every area and all of the staff is more than willing to help out where needed and to top it off, the volunteer program is absolutely wonderful!

This is our first year at cypress elementary school, my child is in kindergarden and is very happy and excelling beyond my expectations. I was skeptical about this school from reading past parent reviews, and am happy to report to all prospective parents that this is a great school!! We are very happy with the staff and other students. The staff is friendly and are there to help our children.

I have three children at this school. We were previously a private school family, but the curriculum and standards at this school are higher than what we found in the private schools my kids attended. The Principal and assistant principal are both beyond wonderful and we have not yet had a bad teacher. If this is my option to paying tuition, I would rather support the teachers with my volunteer time, and financial support than pay tuition. Love Cypress Elementary and my kids are very happy and doing well. A+ school.

This is our second time with Cypress, our children attended 15 years ago, and now my granchildren. The school is one of the best elementary schools in pasco county. The leadership of Mrs. Love and Mr. Papa is exceptional. the teachers and the staff really go out of their way to make you feel like part of a big family. If you want to know how your children are progressing, the school is very easy to communicate with.

We Love this school. I have my second child in this school and as the 1st time around, it nothing short of exceptional. The teachers are great, the principles are very involved.....they remembered me from the last time around 2 years ago. They seem to know all the students and parents. They are very involved. The whole staff and school deserve the 'A' rating they received

We have been a part of the Cypress family for 6+ years. Cypress is a wonderful school. There were times when I thought differently but after moving my son to Longleaf Elementary for 5th grade I realized what a wonderful school Cypress is. It is just like family. The principals know every student and every parent it seems. The front office staff is very attentive and eager to help. The teachers truly care about their students. I am sorry to hear some other feel they had a 'not so nice' experience at Cypress but I can say from experience...the grass is not always greener...!

I am appalled by this school's lack of leadership and confidentiality when it comes to students. It was a fight for me to receive information about my son's progress during the school year! Choose another school...

We have been in this school for 3 weeks and it has been a fight since the beginning. The communication is horrible and the teachers yell at the students and don't get me started about the front office staff. If you have a choice stay away from this C rated school

My son was at this school from Dec until school year end last year. We never received anything the last day of school whether he passed or failed. Today was his first day back and now we receive the end of the year stuff from last year? That benefits us how? Things are running a little or lot, backwards at this school. In the paper work I receive a report card, summer events, registration time and date , after fighting all summer to find out when, as well as a school supply list once school has already begun. The school needs to readdress how it is handling things. Absolutely none of this information is beneficial now. It would have been highly beneficial at the school year end!

Cypress is an excellent, child focused school with a heavy team focus. The school is like one big family. Everyone is there because they care about each other and the children.

My daughter has gone to a few different schools. by far this is the worst school she has ever gone to. the teachers are mean, they often yell at students, they do not encourage parent involvement. only 5 girls in her class, the rest boys.

This is a wonderful school. The teachers have the students work in groups as well as alone. I think it really helps them learn. My daughter is in 2nd grade and already on a 3rd grade reading level. She was reading chapter books in the beginning of 1st grade. Everyone at the school cares about the safety and progress of every student, from janitors to the principal. My daughter is going there through the school choice plan and will stay until she goes on to middle school. The parent involvement could be better but with economy and most parents both working it is hard for the parents. As for extracurricular activities, there are enoughm art and music are wonderful. Any they have plenty of family nights to keep everyone involved.

Cypress on the whole is a wonderful school. It is filled with a mixture of teaching styles which accomidated different students. The community feeling that is felt by parents, students, and teachers is unbeatable.

The school is great. There is a large ammount of volunteers, both parents and community people. They really care about the kids and their education. They are A+.

Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
