As a parent and teacher alike, I'm thrilled with the learning environment my children are a part of at Longleaf Elementary. The philosophy at this school brings out the best in each child and respects the individuality of each and every child, regardless of his/her differences. Administrators, office staff, resource teachers, teachers, students, and parents work together cohesively to make this community worthwhile and enjoyable. Students are respected and cared for at Longleaf Elementary and I would highly recommend this school for any child or family new in the area.
Longleaf Elementary is an out standing learning environment. Children are treated with respect and as individuals. There needs are the main priority of the teachers and staff.
Longleaf is an excellent school. Terrific teachers and staff. The PTA has struggled after changing over from the very successful PTO. However, a new PTA board is in place as of September 2007 with a fresh and helpful attitude. It is the hope of this parent the newest of the new PTA will unite parents and teachers to extend a beneficial hand to the deserving students of Longleaf.
I also agree of the superb quality of the teachers and administration at this school. Exceptional ESE program and I do not agree that the switch from PTO to PTA was a mistake, it's actually been received greatly and membership is the largest it's been ever and parental and teacher involvement is at an all-time high! Enrichment academy will also benefit from this switch as well.
So far, we are really pleased here. We came from a homeschool background and then private school environment and were really cautious about going Public. As far as we are concerned, this Public school beats out all previous fears - we are pleased not only with the academics, but with the personal touch the teachers have with each student. I highly recommend LongLeaf!
The quality of LLES academics is exceptional. Teachers/Support Staff are well trained, prepared for class/students and are accommodating to each child's needs. The rapport between parent/child/teacher is strong creating an atmosphere for children to grow academically and personally. The teachers are supported and led by Mrs. Bodden and Mrs. Wich, who are friendly/professional and are available to assist with needs. LLES Enrichment Academy expands the imagination and learning of the students. Running Club plus others challenge students to be actively involved and/or athletic. Each department genuinely cares to see the students acquire new skills and expand their horizons. Extracurricular activities are well balanced with academics at LLES. A negative of LLES is the new PTA taking over from PTO. Parent involvement has declined.
