This school doesn't care about your child's success. My child scored high on the FCATS entering the school and was in all advanced classes. After a year with this school she is one point away from failing math and hates school now. When I asked the school for help, they said they only provide tutoring for students who are failing the "FCAT" not a class. Seems they only care about keeping their "A" grade status and getting more grant funds for their special arts programs. It's hard to rate this school because there are a few shining stars fon staff and I do love the arts program, but when you need help - you will not get it.

I am a former student of NFMAA. I absoultely LOVED it. Teachers actually care. They want you to succeed. Great Arts program. I recommend Drama, and Physical Education, Ms. Black is a excellent teacher. The only thing I don't agree on, is the DRESS CODE. If the werent worried about punishing us maybe we could get or A+ rating. I hope this review helped.

i have had my issues with the school, but honestly, they have always made a quick effort to get them resolved. The teachers are great at communicating, but you have to make the first move. Otherwise my children enjoy the variety of arts they didn't get in a non-magnet school. Uniform policy is strict, and they have stiff rules about fighting and bulling...but that is a definite plus to me. Dr. Santini is wonderful and they have alot of positive reward systems to inspire the children to do thier best.

This school would be a fantastic school if they weren't so preoccupied with what the children wear and how they wear it. Harsh penalties are doled out for even the slightest offenses and are tallied up to equal even harsher penalties as the school year progresses. If they focused on education as much as clothing and discipline, their school grade would probably be able to move from the 'C' that they have now. They also have low FCAT scores (probably due to the lack of educational focus). No help is afforded by the teachers, with whom I have had conferences to get past these issues. Discipline is their main focus at this school.

The school has a lot of fantastic teachers who get to know the students as individuals. I am impressed with their dedication and commitment to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment.

This is my 1st graders first year at NFMAA. I can't say enough about the staff that deals with him. I have never seen him come home happier than I do this yr. Anytime that I have had to deal with the staff they have been overly friendly and concerned. Most days you can walk in any time and see them full of smiles... Mr Santini seems to be right on the level with them, such as when he ate the worms to help with morale! My hats off to you all at NFMAA.
