I have a daughter and son that is attending this school, and I could not have ask for a better school. There is a lot of parental involvement. You do have to volunteer hours every school year for your child to continue attending. Both my kids are on the honor roll. The teachers are awesome, I have not have a problem with teachers or administrative staff. The principal is really friendly. This school feel like home. If you are a parent who are not involve in your child education, do not bother to send your child.

The school takes in the worse of the worse and treats them like prisoners and there is a serious lack of admin support for the teachers.

I have seen this school grow from the days at the Riverside Christian Academy to a now state of the art new school. The staff that work there from the front office to the janitor are very friendly and attentive to the kids. The class sizes are small and its like a small community where everyone knows each others names. There is a gifted/advance student program at the school. While other schools are cutting so many programs NBAE has managed to avoid doing so. There are many extras being offered art, music, science lab and PE. There are clubs that have been formed like the environmental science club, drama, cheerleading and now there is violin classes being offered in the aftercare program. For a tuition free school it is wonderful and I love the strict uniform policy. I have 2 kids there and would not consider another institution to educate my kids.

I am a parent and I have a daughter that goes to this school, her teachers are ok when it comes to responding to emails about her work, but the discipline at this school is not very good. It seems that a child has to say bully before anything is done.My daughert was really good in her subjects prior to attending but due to the disiplinary actions or lack there of she has gone done. Another thing is that I have never meet teachers and there has been no teachers conference. I know the budget has gone done but not to speak with parents face to face iwas not a good idea.She is now saying how much she hates school and this is coming from a child that loved school.She will not be attending the next scool year. My advised would be to go to NBAE only as a LAST

Our daughter continues to be the 'A' student she was at previous public and private schools and we are all very happy with NBAE. However, I agree with the previous post about advanced/gifted classes and parents taking more responsibility. If your children belong in an advanced or gifted program, then put them into a school that offers that! Don't blame the school if YOU, as parents, didn't do YOUR job and didn't do your research properly. Although it seems to be better lately, lack of parental responsibility is a growing problem everywhere, and yes, even at this school. Remember, our children don't learn from their school teachers alone, they learn from us as well.

I have reviewed this school at a prior date and time. This is my son's 4th year at this school, and I am very impressed with his teacher. She is very organized and challenges him A LOT! I know there is not a gifted program; however, as a parent you must give extras at home...I don't think by offering a gifted program ensures a more gifted child. Parents must take the responsibility as well.

Our child started at NBAE this school year and so far, although we've had a few minor issues, it is much better than our regular public school. Just having a smaller setting is a plus! Teachers will be the luck of the draw in any school, but there is a lot of PTO involvement that is truly appreciated by the school. The one negative thing I would say is that better communication and some personality shown by the school/teachers and parents could be done. Otherwise, we love this school!

With this school, it's the luck of the draw. There are some excellent teachers, and then there are some very poor teachers. There is not a mentoring program for new teachers as in district schools. Team leaders are chosen by default because they have been with the school the longest not necessarily because they are qualified. There is a high rate of teacher turnover and lately student turnover. I have noticed an increase in discipline problems this past school year. I don't feel that administration is honest with the parents.

I was a teacher there! The school was run very well for a while, turned into an A school and the teachers were proud and happy! Then, CSUSA became to involved, the teachers had to answer to them, and they cut salaries and money for materials. You do the math! There is no wonder why all the teachers left!

I have a chld in both the elementary school and the middle school at NBAE. The administration has been working very hard to build in an athletic program as well as more electives for the students. The school has an active PTO that works hard to create fun events to help parents come together such as picnics and CiCi Pizza Nights. Teachers are certified and work hard to get students ready for the FCAT Testing. The elementary school is an 'A' and the middle school is a 'B'. The school has a wait list for the 2008-2009 school year so you better not wait another minute to fill out an application!

My daughter has been attending this school since 1st grade. Now that she is in 3rd grade, I'm seriously considering taking her out of this school in favor of a private school. When my daughter attended 1st and 2nd grade, her school experience was much like other parents here have mentioned: caring teachers, pleasant learning atmosphere, and heavy parental involvement. In 3rd grade, however, it seems the vocation of actually teaching has been thrown out the window in order to appease the FCAT gods. Teachers are not prepared to truly teach, only to drill and pressure students to pass the FCAT. Combined with the lackadaisical communication and growing discipline problems, NBAE is little better than a regular public school. If you believe that charter schools are supposed to be a higher quality alternative to regular public schools, avoid NBAE.

I am dissapointed at the fact that so many teachers come and go at this school. Not sure why this is. Children need to see/have consisitency, especially in school.

Great school with very good teachers. The Principal neeeds a little more organisation also the extracurricular program just started so I have to give them credit for that but it needs alot more organisation.

This school is an A rated school with excellent teachers and extensive parental involvement. The only things lacking is the availability of sports programs, extracurricular activities & the fact the school does not provide transportation. The school is split in to two different locations; which makes having a child in K-2nd and also a child in 3rd or higher more difficult when dropping off morning and picking up after school.

I love this school. My daughter has learned a lot from her teachers. They are wonderful and my daughter looks forward to going to school everyday. When you walk in the school the staff acknowledges you and the Principal takes time to talk to you. My daughter is 6 and she can read and write in sentences. Something that she could not do before. I know 7 and 8 yr olds that can't do that, let alone speak properly. So what the school is in a small building. It's not the building that makes a great school, it's the teachers and the students who attend there. I like the small school atmosphere. There is more one on one help when needed. And would it be nice to have sports? Of course it would, but academic education is more important in life. I am proud to have my child at this school.

The worst...Not even a school...Its a rented church with limited funding, no space, tiny playground, and no activity programs offered. And...You have to watch the supplies...When the church kids come in over the weekend, they use the students supplies causing things to disappear and/or broken.Executive levels have made empty promises from day one...Told parents that this is only temporary housing and a school will be built for the children, then why did they just sign another 4-10 year lease. Don't waste your time with this school...Your kids deserve better
