Great honors, and AP program with friendly students and good teachers. My favorite high school so far.

No longer the school it once was. Kids smoking defiantly right across from the main entrance, then more smoking, drinking, even having sex ON campus. Too many fights. Kids come and go as they please. Some teachers are truly GREAT, but the good ones are getting turned off and leaving. Administrators overwhelmed, especially with weak and absent leadership.

Fights - drugs - students drinking in class - kids having subs for months - little supervision -students walk out of school whenever they want to. Time to get rid of the Principal and restructure this once A school.

Northeast is no longer the school it was. They have accepted too many in the magnet programs, students who are not qualified. As a result, classes are overcrowded, teachers share rooms and there is now three lunches. The students in third lunch never have anything decent to eat. The halls overcrowded, there are fights everyday. Many good students have left or are planning to leave next year. The best teachers have all transferred, and ALL of the administrators have transferred because of lack of leadership.

My son is graduating this year and I am glad he had the opportunity to attend NEHS. He has had a number of outstanding teachers who are gifted at what they do and outstanding, quality human beings. the school has done everything possible to focus on safety and we have never had a problem. These things along with the mix of students from all walks of life, experiences, and backgrounds make this school above average to excellent.

Northeast High has lost its glory; with the new administration the students no longer respect the faculty and each other. It is going down hill fast and I am thrilled this will be the last year for my child. Otherwise I would have to transfer her. Many of the long standing wonderful Faculty have left for better schools because of the new Principal and his staff he brought with him. Sadly; it was Fantastic school until this past year.

the school has taken a new direction, emphasizing athletics and diversity instead of academic excellence. The discipline policy is not followed and students are out of class all the time. Hopefully the new AP will stress academics and discipline. 30 perecnt of the faculty has put in a transfer, so maybe administration will wake up and make positive changes intead of ones that casue a divided faculty and student body.

I personally believe a school like this should go private. Besides being an amazing school with an excellent environment, it's a magnet school. A magnet school implies so much in a student's future. I've seen the way staff & teachers are involved in the students learning. I've also admired the strict way the are. I believe a school this good should get more out of it since being a public school is giving them poor money. They could become even better than what they already are. I wish the best for the years to come to Northeast Hurricanes.

Many of this parent reviews say Northeast is a D/F school. First of all, get well informed because Northeast has never been a D or F school. Second of all, I do agree with the staff & great teachers leaving the school and new staff coming in is not a really good idea, but you never know how the school is gonna become and as my point of view, this school is still the same. The same safe environment with students, the same strict rules and the same helpful teachers.

Northeast in overall is probably one of the few schools in Broward County that are actually good. Besides having great a great athletic department, their security in campus is so much safer than any other school. There isn't violance involved in campus at all, fights between students rarely happen. Teachers help their students achieve and be successful. If fights don't happen, drugs and other bad things don't happen at all in the atmosphere of the Home of the Hurricanes. I'm not saying it's a perfect school, it has flaws like any other, but this school is truly admireable. Since this school is not a normal public high school, instead a Magnet Acadamy, it gives students the chance to have more choices for the high school diploma or degree they want. I truly believe Northeast High School is the best public high school academy in all Broward.

I love Northeast! It is the best school ever. I wouldn't choose to go to any other school.. The teachers are willing to help you every step of the way and it is alot of fun! We have our Spirit weeks, dances and so much more! We are a very involved school at that. Our football games get the most spirit with people being painted up and cheering! Northeast, in my opinion, is an A school.. It is also very diverse. I was supposed to move over the summer, but I couldn't because I would have lost my scholarship opportunities and I really wanted to go to school in Georgia, but now I am really glad I stayed! Everyone at Northeast is like family. They are amazing! I was scared coming in as a freshman because it was such a big transition, but they make you feel at home and welcomed.

I`m an alumni from northeast, and I think its a great school not just because of its acdemics and sports, but because of the over all atmosphere it projects. As an asian, it was very very diverse and the kids and teachers were all great.
I would say that Northeast High has the best athletics fields... Professional entrance and great baseball field. There is so much spirit that it's now common.. I was in the JROTC and I loved every minute. From the spirit, to the screaming and the drill meets. Teachers are among the best in the U.S. Administratrors are like a family. 4 to 5 fights a year only. Great school. Go Hurricanes!

Academic programs are superb at Northeast High. Guidance Director and most all teachers are a four-star rating. Swim program and instructor are excellent.

Northeast High school is unparalleled by any other high school in Broward County, better yet, the universe. Yes, Northeast may have its flaws, but is anything in life perfect? It has become a family tradition to go to Northeast, and after 2 years of being a Hurricane, boy am I glad I followed in my sisters footsteps.I have learned the basic knowledge that any school can provide, but the way in which the teachers at Northeast present this information is what makes Northeast such a great school. Yeah, there is a lot of FCAT prep, but you will find that in any school until the system is changed. What I'm really trying to say is that Northeast High school, home of the Hurricanes, will always hold a special place in my heart, and if you give it a chance for your child, you won't be let down.

Northeast is a great school for students that want to actually learn something. There are not many fights out here compared to other high schools in the area. The teachers are also very nice and obviously well educated. To prove how much I love and trust Northeast, I live in Lauderhill and I send my daughter to school there because she wanted a school where she could learn and have fun at the same time which is what you can do at Northeast.

I feel the administration does not do much to instill/control discipline issues. I am transferring my child out because of this reason. Teachers do not communicate well at all. They should still be an D school, test scores alone do not indicate the rating of this school.

To be honest i'm not thrilled with Northeast, I will say it's better than Boyd Anderson or Coconut Creek, I graduated from Northeast in 1978, and was thrilled that my children was going to Northeast but I'm not so sure now!
