I have two boys who go to Fessenden and they absolutely love this school. It is small, but a nice school. I believe they focus more on reading, spelling, and vocabulary which is good, however, I do wish they focused on math a little more, as my 2nd grade is lacking a little in his math skills, yet excelling in reading. My Kindergartner has a wonderful teacher and he is reading on a 2nd grade level right now, which is awesome! So, overall this is a good school.

This school has come such a long way since it changed principals. The focus is all about the students. They have all kinds of after school programs now that get the kids involved and excited about learning. The staff is held to high standards and the improvement really shows. I highly recommend Fessenden to anyone who is looking for a small, country-style school where everyone is courteous and friendly.

Fessenden is a great little school. My sons have 2 of the best teachers at this school. They are aware of each students weakness and strengths and work at these to make successful school years. My sons' teachers truly care about the students and their successes. In fact, these 2 teachers measure their success on the quality of educations received by each student. They work for and with the students. All of the faculty at Fessenden is great, from administration, noninstruction, to instructional. This place has the feeling on one big family and have found a way to make the students feel comfortable.

Since the new principal has come into the school we have noticed a big difference. There is more parental involvement and communication with teachers. FCAT is still the main focus, as it should be. The student's days are filled with constant learning. The school is always open for ideas of improvement.

This school is trying hard to get up to where it needs to be and keep it there. They need to do more to get the parents involved. I would like to see them do more things to recognize student's achievements. Also, teachers should be more involved with the parents; don't be afraid to call us, they are our children and we want to hear how they are doing good or bad. By calling or sending home a letter shows us that you do care and they are getting your individual attention.

Fessenden is a good school. The teachers work hard to improve students reading ability.

This school is high on discipline, and focuses more on FCAT preparing, than normal teaching practices. Also children with special needs such as ADHD are passed on. Unless there is constant parental involvement with the school they do nothing to help the child with special needs. This school should focus more on positive teaching and less focus on the school's FCAT scores.
