This school needs a total overhaul, from the principal all the way down the line. He is rude and a total disappointment. I truly hope that things improve for the sake of all our children. I can't wait until I can transfer my children out of there.
This school needs a thorough evaluation and have their staff trained and knowledgable of their school policies. It is so disappointing their rudeness in dealing with parents too. I just hope their more compassionate with the kids. I can't wait to transfer my kids and out of this school asap.
The Principal does not deal with parents directly nor does he return phone calls. You would think that an addition to the school would be better than those old, out of date, possibly toxic run down portables little kids are forced to learn in. The teachers are rude and don't feel it necessary to contact you if your child is having problems. Nothing is done about Bullying. This school needs a complete overhaul starting with the Principal. I am one of the lucky ones to get my children out of Sunrise.
This school lacks safety. The Dean of Discipline doesnt care for the welfare of children. They are a joke when they speak of manners, respect, and anti bullying. Im pulling my daughter out asap..tomorrow morning and reporting them.
After reading all the reviews, I was concerned about putting my son in this school. He is beginning his 2nd year at this school now, and I have to say, I couldn't be happier. The school is extremely positive, and the teachers really care. They have a great thing going at this school, and I'm looking forward to sending my daughter here too when she's old enough.
I am so happy that I am not the only one who thinks this school is in need of HELP!!! I can't agree more about the principal. At orientation, we walked past him and he did not even say a word. He was standing alone. my son said hello, nothing. Luckily my child is in a main building with a great teacher. I feel for the portable students. All us parents have made it well know our feelings about the school and principal and we are not heard. We are going to move out of this school district asap!!! I have a younger child and no way will I spend my child there!!!
I think that the school is very overcrowded. My daughter's classroom size was 26 and that was after she had to be moved to make a new classroom because of all the new students who enrolled during the school year. The principle is very involved but there is only so much they can do with their current situation.I am very glad the new school will be ready soon for 4th & 5th grade but I think it's terrible that the students have to change schools mid year.
Sunrise Elementary is focused on Success and is one of the best elementary schools in the county! 'I Love It!', 'I Love My Teachers, they are Friendly' and 'It is Fun' is how my child describes SunRise! The focus is on Children and their well rounded education.
I love the school every from the principal down to the teacher are loving and caring for the students when i bring my daughter I know she haveing a great learning and fun and safe day thank you all
This is an excelent school that has my approval.
