This school is good for the very early years but after second grade the quality of instruction becomes average at best. By the time my student got to middle school I simply could not justify continuing to send my student to this school. Not only is the staff petty and judgemental, they fail to adequately prepare students to move on to anything more than a community college or Christian college education. Most of the students who have attempted to complete a challenging post high school education (ie: West Point, Ivy League college) have failed miserably because they were not adequately prepared to meet the challenge due to the high school's poor quality of instruction. Additionally the religious views of the faculty often obscures their ability to look beyond the walls of the school and accept that there is a real world out there and it does not always revolve around church. That said, your student will get a strong education in the fundamental Baptist worldview.

This is not a bad school. If you want your child taught that the earth is 6000 years old and that evolution is a fantasy, this is the place to go. Other than the flawed scientific views, the rest of the education is above average.

Ocala Christian Academy is an excellent academic school and your child will certainly learn if s/he is motivated. However, the main problem lies with the teachers who quite often talk about politics and are very judgemental to those who do not agree with their conservative viewpoints. One teacher asked the students to pray for President Obama because he perhaps was not saved. This comment is totally inappropriate because no one at this school truly knows President Obama. OCA needs to focus more on academics and less on judging others in a negative vein. This school also needs more extra curricular activities for its students.

This school is good when it comes to an education. This school though, pushes its beliefs way to much on the students. They have a tunnel vision and think that there way is the only right way. Some of the teachers are also judgmental. You know, God teaches to be accepting of other beliefs and to not be judgmental. Some people in this school act like hypocrites. When my child was attending this school, one of the high school teachers was always very rude to my child even though my child was always sweet and never got into any trouble. Other than those complaints about the religious part of the school and about some of the teachers, the education was very good.

Ocala Christian Academy has fantastic academics. The teachers care about the students from the kindergarten to the high school. We love the education that our children are receiving at the school. I would highly recommend this school to any parent who wants their child to be challenged in his education.

Everyone Knoes your child at O.C.A. Teachers start at K-3 and follow this students sometimes even to 12th grade. Many of the teachers have been with th school for many years , so they will teach two generations of the same family. Most of the time they are very organized. Music and art departments could improve as well as some High school classes that should be required(i.e. typing skills/computer).

This is my sns first year in a private school. I thought the transition would be a difficult one, much to my surprise it wasnt. The staff and teachers are there for your child and you , whatever the need. My son went from hating school to loving school. Making average scores in school to A B Honnor roll. Elementary students have play time everyday, with some type of extra curricular activity (art, nusic, computer, PE). The teachers make sure your child has the subject down before passing on to a new one, unlike the public schools. In that instance your child begins to feel overwhelmed and behind. You wont at this school! Great school, and staff.

Both of my children have attended OCA all of their school careers. I have been thrilled to see how far ahead academically they are over students who enroll from area public schools, and the spiritual emphasis they receive is outstanding.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
