Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I am proud mother of three and all have been in Oak Ridge. My youngest are still attending and don't want to move. The teachers are very helpful and understanding. The school programs are amazing. I would recommend this school above any A grade school. They really focus on the teens and their benefits. Thank you Oak Ridge High

Its A Great School! I Am A Freshman This Year & I Can Honestly Say That The Teachers Are Helpful ! If you have a bad grade you can talk to your teacher of that subject and they help you raise it. some of the chemistry teachers arnt really good at teaching. theirs no bullying to be seen and if you fight its for a reason becuase they dont look for problems or at least not to me . everybodys friendly and they help you if you need anything ! im a proud pioneer!

I spent my 4 years at Oak Ridge and those are the most memorable years of my life. I had so many great teachers who prepared me well for college. Don't blame solely the school for your children's poor performance, consider your responsibility in your kids' education. Don't assume that once the kids hop on the yellow bus, their learning is no longer yours to concern. I made the effort to learn at Oak Ridge and my parents made the effort to help me at home. Now I am only a few months away from graduating from Pharmacy school, I thank Oak Ridge for taking part in setting a strong foundation to support my ladder to success.

My son just transfered from an A school and he has never been happier. He likes the other kids and says that the teachers are so much better than the A school. They answer his questions and they don't make him feel dumb. When he does well they acknowledge this to him. It is a much more relaxed environment, he is not stressed out all the time. He loves it. I wish the State would provide funding to fix it up and make it look nice. My son wishes he had transfered to the school 3 years ago.

My biggest concern with Oak Ridge there seems to be a lack of concern by the guidance employees. They do not return calls and are at times aloaf to the students and parents. The school is not bad, it has a good student to teacher ratio, just more attention by guidance is needed.

This school is getting better every year. There is a lot of diversity and adversity in this school. I am proud of their accomplishments and I don't believe that the student's futures are bleak at all. If the people who critique the school were actually in the classroom they would see the development and progress. The parents and students come from different countries so of course, the learning and curriculum will have to be different to accommodate the students. This school talks to its students and adjust to their needs. Where do you find teachers that care anymore? At Oak Ridge. em

This may not be the fanciest school on earth but there is this special pride you feel everyday. Its something extraordinary. Ive been to many schools and Oak Ridge has the best atmosphere. I mean sure parents need to put some more effort on encouring and supporting students. But we've come a long way. Academically we have improved and in FCAT as well. And we have alot of talented athletes in the school.

Oak Ridge continues to struggle despite the odds. Teachers have to literally fund their own classrooms. The music program is growing and doing well. Both band and chorus have been to Atlanta and won top honors. Academics are a strong focus. Teachers are well prepared, however the emphasis here must be that parents need to be more involved in their student's endeavors. Students are given tremendous opportunities to learn. Tutoring is available, however few take advantage of that situation. Sports is very well supported all around. The accomplishments of the track team continues to put Oak Ridge on the map. There are many who would love to see a huge change at Oak Ridge. The community needs to get more involved in the programs on board. Students will thrive here only if they apply themselves. As with any other school, students have to make good choices.

Teachers desperately want to teach students here. There are many who have dedicated themselves to students who need that extra push to excel. Students are challenged in many ways. There are new things happening which will bring a wider variety of students. Technology is now being offered which will take this school into the 21st century with career paths which are not only appealing but in high demand in the world of gaming, web design and other areas of computers. People need to realize until they get involved and help mentor some of the students, or support the school by attending meetings crucial to decision making, that things will remain as they always were. We need parents to step up and take the initiative to show how much they care and want to be involved in their student's lives. Young people need guidance and attention now more than ever.

Oak Ridge is a great school, The teachers and staff are dedicated and care about the quality of education that the students recieve. Any student that is motivated will get a great education. The problem is, that there are so many students that dont care and the parents of these student dont care either. This brings the whole grade of the school down. I have been to football games, chorus concerts, drama productions, spaghetti suppers, and its always the same maybe 35 parents out of a student population of 2000! It is a disgrace to the students who have worked so hard to get no support !

How can you down a school your children go to and not do anything to change it? We had no choice but to send our children there because we moved into the school zone after the cut off date for picking a different school. Parents lets get involved and chance this place.

Go visit this school and you will see what an inner city school is like. I understand why its an F school, the kids are so far behind the other schools in the area. They lack discipline and structure and for the most part are very imature for their ages. Parents wake up this is our future and they will not be prepared.

I feel for the young men and woman who go to this school, there futures are bleak, their parents are not involved and for the most part the teachers do not seem to care about their futures either. Considering this school is in a very poor area you would think the parents would want to better their kids but that sadly is not the case. I am amazed at how many kids who had the option to move to a good school as a result of the F rating have stayed at Oak Ridge.

A poor school in sad shape. I am happy we had a choice to remove our daughter from this school. Orange county needs to consider closing this school as they are not preparing the kids for the future rather baby sitting them...Its really an terrible environent...

A big school with many students. I wasn't in any of the programs or extracurricular activities, but I probably would have been if I had stayed there. I never saw a fight either.

This school is never in the news; the kids work hard to better themselves. The principal wasn't getting along with kids or the faculty, many teachers quit because of her. She had a problem with discipline, following through, not teachers and students. It's a great school that you never hear anything bad about (drugs, weapons, FCAT) and to the contrary, you never read anything good about them. Great school with caring staff. Principal turned her head too many times, she didn't seem to care. Ask why teachers and staff moved from this school, it was because of the principal. Now with her gone, things will undoubtedly get better for Oak Ridge Pioneers. Keep up the good work students, faculty and staff.
