Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Both of my children have attended ECS. My son graduated last year and in retrospect says he is very glad he attended. My daughter on he other hand never liked Eastland and so we took her out and let her attend an orange county charter. Needless to say, after that school year was over, we put her back in Eastland. So while the school is small, and strict on behavior, and perhaps cannot offer all the bells and whistles that a larger school can offer, there is no denying that she is safe. The staff cares, oppositional behavior is not tolerated, students can't wander off or others wander onto the property, and I know she's safe. I have found outside programs to satisfy her desires for extra curriculars, and there are ways to ramp up the scholastics if we want to. I think they can raise the bar on academics but I see they are working on that. Ecs is a great option if you are concerned about the environments in public schools.

ECS excel on academics , spiritual development and guide them the biblical truth of Christian living. Both my kids started pre K, now will be on 5th grade and 1st grade. Their Christian teachers are very caring, patient ,knowledgeable & go to seminars.SAT scores of my daughter is 4 level & my son 1 level above national ave. We're very satisfied on how they discipline them, they are very obedient & loving kids. I remember on 1st day in pre K, my hyperactive son ran out of the class, Principal Mrs. Green went on her way to get him & calm him down , my son at first doesn'tlike to go school that I need to carry him inside and Mrs. Green saw that we are struggling to bring him. She find time to talk to him and convince him to stay in school. Now he love to go to school and he is a discipline boy. Bullying is not allowed , respect is valued , patriotism & to love God above all & Christ centered living is being taught. Charity works of school & church are great help around the community , students learn how to be compassionate & mindful of others.I feel secure bec FBI clearance is required before any parent can partipate in escorting students in field trips or any school activities.

After we left the school, we ran into one of the teachers who was fired because the school was having financial problems. She said that they've had shocking behavior issues that one would not usually associate with a Christian school. While they will fire good teachers because of money, they'll also let anybody into the school for the same reason. I understand that Pastors don't make much but I really wish they'd stay out of the education arena if the quality is not there either educationally or spiritually. Please get on your face before God, get some Holy Spirit power in your preaching, and try to change the community that way. Win them to the Lord and disciple them- that is the Great Commission. That is how to build a church- not through a school whose enrollment is padded through government handouts...

Overall this school has been great to my daughters. The teachers are engaging and there are lots of physical activities for the kids. The only HUGE unfortunate drawback is that there is no governing school board or council. Currently the principal is the authority and in the case of my daughters I have been threatened with expulsion when respectfully questioning the Principal's actions as it refers to my children. There is a clear abuse of Power that is going on unchecked.

Eastland over all is a great school! it is focused on Christ and is such a blessing to have.It has many activities and oppertunities to be apart of,above all being one of the greatest private christian schools around. The teachers are caring and very helping to students, the students are all growing in faith daily, and the school itself is a well built ,organized structure. The Eastland Difference is life changing and i encourage everyone to be a part of it.

My child has learned a lot. His teacher is wonderful and caring. I feel he is in a very safe environment. My child has done very well at the school. With that being said there are some drawbacks. The administrator allowed several kids into the K class that were not 5 by September 1st. I feel this might be holding the other kids back. I see the children that started at 4 and almost all of them are in the "slower" reading group. Also class size should be considered. A private school does not have to adhere to the class size amendment so they have more than 17 children in the K class. Also there is some communication lacking. The administration does not embrace technology so we are not able to email teachers and the website does not stay updated.

A graduate of ECS i have to give my insiders opinion, and i would strongly suggest thinking twice before sending your child here. The teachers and faculty are amazing people, however many of them aren't qualified to teach what they head up. The School is good until about 8th grade when the learning experience declines greatly. Don't be fooled when your child brings home better grades and didn't before, the workload is little to none and the teachers don't encourage to go above and beyond studies. You learn the basics and nothing else, putting you at a HUGE disadvantage in College. College advising is completely absent at this school: I'm the only person in my class who didn't opt to skip college or go to community college. Around 4 grads of the 09 class scored less than 900 on their SAT, if that doesnt speak volumes I dont know what does.

Eastland is wonderful. The teachers go out of their way to help the students and they have a great sports program. Sports is Christ centered not school centered and the kids enjoy participating. I feel my children are safe and bringing home great grades with it still being affordable.

I love Eastland. This is my kids first year there after many years somewhere else. I cannot believe the difference! The kids are striving for high grades, the teachers help the children after school if they need it, the administration doesn't tolerate things I have seen in the past. I They have football, cheerleading, volleyball, baseball, softball, golf, basketball and they bring home alot of ribbons at the academic competition!

The best thing I have ever done for my son is enroll him at Eastland. He's been a student there for 2 years now and we love it. I'm completely amazed at how much he has learned in that time. In K-3 he learned the alphabet, colors and shapes, and I don't just mean the basic ones, he knew what an octogon was. In K-4 this year he has learned to identify the letters of the alphabet, write them, write his name, short words. He's learned the vowels and the long and short sounds of them. They have party days, Christmas programs, etc.and parents can participate as much as they want. The firm and loving staff is wonderful. The faith base is very important and I just can't say enough good things about this school, I love it and as soon as my daughter turns 3 she will be enrolled also.

I have been going to Eastland since I was two. I am now sixteen and can't imagine going anywhere else. The teachers are exceptional and the administration truly cares about the students. The academics there are fantastic and I feel very prepared for when I go to college. Eastland offers a variety of sports for guys and girls. Guys can choose from football, basketball, and baseball. Girls can choose from volleyball, basketball, and softball. The coaches are great and put an emphasis, not on just winning, but being an example of Christ on and off the court/field. There are music and art programs for the younger grades and choir is extended up throught the twelfth grade. High school is given the option of participating with yearbook or library. The level of parent involvement from my viewpoint is very high. The parents are able to get as involved as they want to.
