Great academic program infused with the arts. My children love the music and art program and even sing opera at home now. Teachers are great and very qualified. Facility itself is modest, but the learning method they use -- teaching something such as German history by incorporating it into every subject works great for the kids. One thing that is very different about the school is minimal parent involvement to make it a 'kid's place' but I think it works well with their program.

It is a wonderful school. I am a student in the seventh grade, we excel far more faster with our one-on-one teaching. Expecialy in math, if you aren't quite up with the rest of your group our wonderfuly nice math teacher will make a group just for you, until you are comfertable to excel with the rest of the class.

NSO fosters an environment of respect, both in teachers and students. They have high standards, but recognize different learning styles. My son is in Kindergarten and actually asks when he gets to go back to school, on the weekends! We're thrilled with NSO so far.

Community ratings and reviews do not represent the views of GreatSchools nor does GreatSchools check their accuracy or verify the reviewers' identities. Use your discretion when evaluating these reviews.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
