i love this school for my kids they love it the teacher are amazing the principle is so nice and this school makes my kids wake up in the morning and saying i wanna go to school mommy
My child has been at Teachers Hands for three years and this has been the best year so far. Graduation and the many awards ceremonies were so good. I can't wait until he graduates. Every child felt special and I could not believe how much all the staff seemed to know so much about every child. I would not want to go to any other school.
My daughter is presently attending THA _ this is her third year- she is in kindergarten. Am I happy with the school? No, I am not! I started doing research on other private schools that I can take my daughter to along with her 'children first' scholarship. I have grave concerns with teaching tactics in my daughter's class. Would I recommend this school? Mrs. Linda Terrell- head teacher of 4 year olds is the only one I'd trust to teach my child and the preschool director: Ms. Rita Tucker is the best!! The chapel has an excellent pastor: Jose. He is a wonderful inspiration for all children. Best advice: keep on searching... God Bless.
MY son is been going to this school since 5th grade; now he is going to 11th grade. Without the help and family type environment of this school, I don't think he would hve made so far. He got good moral, character and respect, that I know the beside the out bringing of his family and the help that this school had provided him , it wouldn't be the same. Thank you Teacher Hhands Academy and the faculty staffs.
My child took Spanish 1 and 2 in the high school. As a junior he is going to take American Sign Language. He participates in many afterschool activities like Student Government and Beta Club. He is also learning to work in ministry opportunities and taking Band. His classes were college prep material and much more advanced than anything my friend's students are doing in the local public school. Joe Bailey
My two children have attended this school for four years. My oldest daughter is an 11 grader and this year had the opportunity to dual enroll at a local votech school, Valencia Community College, or Florida Virtual School because of her grades (she was below grade level just four years ago now she is testing two years above). Anyway, when I set up a guardian account at Florida Virtual School we were thrilled to see all the electives my child can take from Chinese, Spanish, Latin to Computer, Web Design, Graphic Design, Driver's Education. My daughter is so excited about the endless possibilities of being able to add online classes to her schedule. This is a great privilege for her and a benefit to her education. I'm thankful for this school.
Not sure what people mean no extra curricular activities. My son has played both soccer and basketball at this school. He even had the opportunity to play on the Magic court because the team was selected. He was involved in 4H, Chess Club, Homework Study, Mime, and Junior Hip Hop. At Christmas he participated in a full drama and music presentation. As a fourth grader last year he learned to play the flute-a-phone. He has had opportunities to attend church with the different school groups on both Wednesday and Friday nights. His favorite part of the week is chapel because he loves all the singing they do. There were less than 13 students in his class and his reading level on the SAT was two levels above grade level. I have only been impressed by the program which continues to get better and better.
My daughter just finished taking four different drama classes and 24 college credits while still in high school at Teacher's Hands Academy. What an incredible opportunity my child has had at THA. I am so thankful.
This school lacks everything out there. The classes are not one bit challenging, this school lacks a lot of electives and fun classes such as BST, Tv Producation, Weight Lifting, Band, Volleyball, Tennis, Driver's Ed, Drawing, Jewelry, Pottery, Photography, Humanities, Drafting, Web Design, PC Support, and Networking. They do however offer PE, Art, and a computer class but they are very poor quality courses and are the least bit challenging. They should offer other languages such as Latin, French, and German. The classes here do not prepare you at all for college.
The school lacks extracurricular activities: No organized sports, no music, no sound arts, no PE instructor. For Physical Education the students run wild in a play ground with limited teacher involvement. They do not have a PE Instructor since the beginning of class 2006. Therefore I do not blame the teachers this is not there job. Although, the majority portray to have wholeheartedly good intentions for the students. This is not sufficient if what is being taught and by whom it is being taught does not produce the competetive edge, an education level that private schools are known for. Anyway, I am not seeking a perfect school, but come on, these are just basics-a well balance curriculum.
What an excellent program THA offers to ALL students! I am so impressed by the quality of service they offer. The principal is firm but loving and holds both students and parents accountable for behavior. My child's self esteem has risen and he loves to go to school. With only 15 students in a class, he has been able to get to grade level and above grade level in math. Students take the SAT every year so the school is held accountable for achievement. My son's favorite time of day is chapel, where he has been encouraged to live a godly life! This school receives my highest recommendation! If your child receives McKay scholarship, this school is the best in offering learning disabled services such as speech, occupational therapy and physical therapy. I am also excited because of their dual-enrollment program with Valencia Community College and the Votech schools in town.
I went to school here last year for my freshmen year of high school and it was basicly a wasted school year. All the kids at this school are just trouble makers who got kicked out of public schools and are a very bad influence to real christians. Also, it was impossible to work and learn there because of having all that trouble makers talk so much in it and teachers and staff didn't do [anything] about it. This was also the worse school year ever for me. I now attend Boone High School as a sophomore and I'm not bullied at all. The principal at T.H.A told me I couldn't make it at boone yet I have higher grades in my regular classes than like half the class and there's like 30 people in my classes. It's also way easier to learn at boone especially if your in regular classes.
An amazing school for any child. My very gifted child will dual-enroll at Valencia Community College while she finishes high school. We will be able to afford college because a lot of it will be accomplished while she is still in high school. Thank you THA for helping her become a success. Thank you for loving and caring about her individual needs.
I have had children at THA for about 6 years. In 2005-2006 school year my children where in 4th grade and 1st grade. They both did excellent. I home schooled my two other older grown children and I can promise you that THA has given my tow younger girls a quality education. They are both A student. I have tested them and found no gaps in their education. There work is far beyond what is being done in the public school by my neighbors and friends children. I would highly reccommend THA.
My son is 4 1/2 years old. he has attended THA almost two years.I chose the scholl for the less children per class. The teachers are nice and the preschool director is the best.
What a great program. My learning disabled child has learned to read two grade levels higher this year alone. He received physical and occupational therapy and loves his school!
The principle was very open and honest about the school and it's program. She stated it is not for everyone. I appreciatied her honesty.
My son and my daughter was going to THA and they made my children loose a complete school year. First, they change the teacher several times a year. My son was on 4th and his level was on 2nd. My daughter was on kindergarden and when the orange county test her noted that she is only pre-school level. Now they going on public school and they are change a lot. My son repeat 4th grade but now on less than 1 year his progress until the level that he suppost to go. THA help the children with the answer on the S.A.T. I thank God because I find a better school for my childrens. The test on Orange county public school was free of any charge and the most scholarship are transferible to any private school. Be selective with the education for your childrens.
Teacher's Hands Academy was a special blessing to our family. We looked all over to find a christian school that could help my child grow spiritually, as well as academically and THA was that school! The administration and I have worked together for over four years and I have found them to be both professional and friendly. They encourage active participation from all families and individualize programs for each child's needs...my child was gifted and she was able to be dual-enrolled in high school and college at the same time. while they provide all types of classes for learning impaired students, they also provided honors classes for my daughter. Thanks to THA my daughter is on her way to college...something I never thought possible!
