Osteen Assistant Principal ROCKS! My truck not running, Brittney's car barely running until I needed to pick up the kids then neither car would start >:{ So I can't pick up kids call school tell them what up and with only 2 minutes till the bell the assistant principal finds my kids gets them to the office, figures out what bus they need to be on and got them on it on time. I was a wreck and the boys thought it was so much fun!!!!!

My children both attend Osteen Elementary and I would not have them anywhere else. The teachers are excellent at making sure the students get what they need to be productive in the classroom. I have seen strong parent involvement and with both teachers and leadership staff working together things run well.

As the principal, I am biased but I believe Osteen Elementary Schoool proviides students and excellent education. We are an A rated school for the past 9 consecutive years. The faculty and staff work each day to give 100% of our efforts towards a child centered learning experience aligned with the curriculum required. I believe, "Attitude is everything at Osteen!" Feel free to contact me at Osteen Elementary School if you would like to learn more about us, and even tour the campus prior toenrolling your child. Sincerely, Bob Ouellette Principal 407-688-9555

This school is wonderful! All three of my children have attended Osteen Elementary, and they have gotten an excellent education. The teachers are extremely dedicated and do whatever is necessary to help the students be successful. This is a very 'family oriented' school and everyone is very friendly.

My son has been in this school for 4 years and he has been doing very well. Most of the teachers that I have met are very focused on helping the children succeed and welcome parental involement. I do wish they would not focus so much on the FCAT and work more on grasping everyday learning but that won't change until the whole state does. Overall, I think this school is wonderful. The principal is very high profile and I love the new telephone messaging. I'd like to see an increase in Phys. Ed maybe with some afterschool programs ( Softball, football, soccer etc ).

This is my son's last year there and he is doing great. Thanks to his teacher Ms. Stoner. All the teachers are great. The only thing I do not like is the stress put on the kids during FCAT.

My son had a great year, and we are so gateful for the commitment and support of his wonderful teacher, Ms. Bakowski. Previously, we have had a bumpy experience at this school, but this year my son made amazing progress. His teacher kept us informed and involved all the way through.

Although this is an A rated school, it does focus more on passing the FCAT then the child grasping the concepts of what he/she is to learn.

Overall academics are poor and the focus is on FCAT. It appears that topics are raced through before a child can grasp a concept and then raced on to the next subject. Parental involvment in the learning process is all but mandatory if you want your child to succeed. There is minimal art and music and no sports at all.

The teachers at this school always give their best effort to have the children not only learn but understand what they learn. My son doesn't enjoy school but loves learning and all the staff endevor to bring out the best he can do.

Osteen Elementary has a new Principal this year and so far she is high profile. She is always at the curb to greet the kids with a big smile as they come to school in the morning. I can't say enough good things about the teachers at Osteen, many of whom have been teaching there for many years and still have a great desire to be a positive role model and influence in our children's lives. I've had children attending this school since 1983 and worked there occasionally so it is like a second home to me! My older kids love to go back and visit their favorite teachers. Overcrowding is a problem - like everywhere in Central Florida - and the use of teacher's assistants has declined greatly. It will be interesting to see how the new Principal handles these obstacles.

Osteen Elementary School has gone down hill in the past 5 years. Its focus is on money how much can we get how much can we pay our teachers and how many children can we possibly sign up for the free lunch program. Many of the teachers lack lesson plans, they lack the skills necessary to bring our children into the future for they lack communication skills with parents, they certainly must be lacking in communication skills with Parents. Many teachers admit we teach to test. We do not teach to learn, pass, pass, pass, we must pass to get the necessary money to pay teachers and keep the school going. It is sad that the education of our children is no longer the number 1 goal of a school, but the amount of dollars we can bring in. Please get the focus back on education and not on money.

I am not a parent of a past or current student but a 'graduate' of Osteen Elementary. I am now a 25 year old mother and this school changed and molded my life in many aspects. The teachers there were the most influential in all of my academic career. I look back at my experiences there and I am truly grateful for my time there.

Since the new principal has been in the school it has improved greatly. My older children did not have the opportunity to experience this improvement, however, my youngest child has the privilege to get her education at this fine grade 'A' school.

My children have been attending Osteen Elementry for 9 years. It is a great school and the teachers are excellent. The extended day and summer programs are great. The coming year is going to be trying with all the upcoming construction/changes, however, I am confident that we will work our way through it together.
