After reading the negative review on this site, I had to comment. My children have fortunately done very well at The Master's Academy and it is by far the best school academically in central florida. Most of the teachers are absolutely committed to the students, but then there is always one at any school. The academics are advanced, and what's more your children have to work to get a passing grade. I would have to guess that those parents that are being negative found the easy way out in public school with no homework and just FCAT- FCAT- FCAT. It would be hard to find a better situation for your children if you want them in a Christian learning environment. The only thing that is difficult is coming in as a new student and making new friends, which is probably the case just about anywhere you go. The administration is excellent, although I will tell you they don t mix with the families in the school body they are there to run the school not to be your friend . I highly recommend it to any Christian family. Both of my children went off to state universities after graduating from masters and finished in the top of their classes.
I love TMA. My high school daughter gets to study abroad for the school's 2 week "J-term." This year's trip is to Scotland and Ireland. Last year they went to Rome and Florence, the year before they studied in London. My other child is taking two weeks of photography and cooking. Her best friend is going on a mission trip to Costa Rica. There are a myriad of options. My kids love their school supplied iPads, as well. I appreciate the creative, innovative experiences and tools they have at TMA.
After two years at an A-rated public school, I knew that I wanted more for my girls. Selecting The Master's Academy was a true investment in our daughter's future on so many levels! The intimate atmosphere of a God-centered school while still having strong academics and leading-edge technology was perfect! The safety and security was superior to what we had at the public school. The teachers that we have had played a tremendous role in helping diagnose and correct one child's learning disability. The masters academy has provided a rich, nurturing, yet still competitive place for our girls to lean and grow!!!
We are a new family to TMA and have felt so at home from the very first visit. Our kids have been welcomed by teachers and families alike. Our children have very different needs. One needs a lot of support and the other really needs to be challenged. Master's meets both of their needs and is so good about constant communication about their growth.
I am the parent of a TMA graduate. He spent his high school years at the school. As a "new kid" he never really felt "new". He formed very solid friendships with amazing peers that have, and continue to, encourage him in his walk with God. We found the teachers to be interested in him as a person, not just one of the crowd. He was encouraged in his academics, along with his relationship with God. He played sports and found it to be competitve in the sports he played. His coaches not only taught him to be an athlete, but to be a Christian athlete. He is now a junior at UCF, persuring his degree. He has been prepared for all he has faced, including the arduous task of applying for and getting accepted to colleges. Neither he nor I would trade his time at the Master's Academy.
My elementary age children have been at Masters for 3 years now - we love it! The communication between the staff and parents is superb! We are welcome to visit and eat lunch as often as we wish with our children. I am in a Moms bible study and it is fabulous! The teachers have been excellent and we adore Miss DiBartolomeo! A great place for your children! Christian atmosphere and excellence in one place!
I never saw a school like The Master's Academy that looked at each child as a unique child created by God. Learning assessments are given on each child. The teachers go above and beyond to help find the way your child learns best. There are after school clubs such as model rockets, robotics, etiquette, drama, puppet team and chess club. Other programs such as enrichment, a gifted program and a learning center. Sports begin at age 4 and there are four gym classes a week. Even a student council at all levels! What a way to develop leadership in students as young as first grade!
My daughter has attended The Master's Academy since the 8th grade. Since the first day of school she was welcomed by her peers and teachers in a very loving way. She has been academically challenaged at TMA and is doing well. We love the Christian atmosphere and love that she is growing spiritually. We are thankful that she can pray, speak and learn about God.
TMA is not just a school. It is family. For the past 7 years I have watched my 4 children grow into young men and women of integrity, character, and faith equipped to face the rigorous challenges of college and adulthood due to the encouragement, love, discipline and knowledge they have received here at The Master's Academy. The sports' programs, fine arts, Bible studies, technological advances, mission trips, AP and Honor classes, leadership training, etc. have helped develop the heart, mind, and soul of my children because the teachers, staff, and coaches genuinely care and invest themselves so personally into the lives of every student. They have learned to think, lead, make decisions, serve, care, and apply their knowledge to making a positive difference in the world. You will not be disappointed at the well rounded, excellent education TMA provides!
After analyzing all options for our girls to start school, experiencing TMA for 1 1/2 years, and even rechecking all other options, I can confidently say that this is the best school for our family. My 1st grader says she wants to go there forever..even college...heh. Teachers are academically challenging, patient, and handle situations professionally. Principals & Superintendents are always striving to improve school & offerings. Coaches are kid-magnets & offer fun clinics, etc. Parents' suggestions are honestly considered. Lots of parent involvement...Mom/Dad groups, gatherings, volunteering, seminars...people CARE there. Children get to experience so much: family friendly football games, other sports, art, drama, cheering, music, computers, spanish, Latin, chapel, after school activities/clubs, writing labs, much more...all in a "secured" environment (cameras & security guards on premesis) Pastor & Team always hve appropriate message with good visuals and fun music. Like that this is a non-denomination Christian school so kids know we have similar beliefs, even if not identical, can still get along. live in A rated zoned public school, but feel this is good investment.
