Amount of homework: Don't know
July 25, 2015
It's odd because the homework and classwork is definitely there, and perhaps in some ways not there enough, but it's so haphazardly thrown together that it might barely constitute as "work".

By face value, yes, but if you look deeper or get to know its students, most of them are quite the opposite.

Their version of respect is forced and unearned, along with incredibly flimsy and fragile as a newly laid egg.

I have attended this school for the past two years, and as I am a military child, I have been lucky enough to experience other, more culturally and academically advanced schools before it. As said in another review, Pace High School was a culture shock to me, and I can honestly say that while my time there wasn't Hell, it is by far the worst school I've ever gone to. I feel extremely sorry for the students who have no choice but to attend this school and haven't had the opportunities I have had to see better schools and better programs. I have seen multiple roaches at this school, and they are positively HUGE, and the school overall is filthy. I haven't seen any rats like other reviews have stated, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they were running around as well. Some teachers are UNCOMFORTABLY personal with certain students, but few are even willing to offer help to students academically. Memorization rather than the actual understanding of a subject is what students learn, and some core subjects are not even taught until Junior/Senior year. I hated the academics of this school and felt that I was wasting my life and not in any way preparing for my future, college, or any sort of life outside of Pace with this school's way of running things. I learned absolutely nothing in this school, and I definitely found it to have strong senses of favoritism both socially and academically. I found some diamonds in the rough in terms of teachers who actually put effort into their classes (and were professional about it) and students who weren't completely mentally isolated by their small town and their smaller school. I wouldn't recommend this to another student or their family, and would be glad if I never had to spend another day in its filthy, biast halls.

This school shows favoritism. There were many racists people there. Everyone does not get the same opportunities.

I absolutely hated this school. My entire freshman year was miserable. I moved to Florida the summer I would begin my freshman year. I had came from an art's school up north so, I already had high expectations. I did not like that part of Florida in general. It was nothing how I expected Florida to be. Pace high school is NOT diverse at all. The school I went to up north was extremely diverse and, I absolutely loved that. This school is full of country rednecks. I have seen so many roaches at this school. Not little roaches, HUGE one's. This school should have been kept more clean. The biggest problem I had with this school was dress code. Coming from an art's school, we believed in freedom to express ourselves. Now, I do understand that there should be some dress codes but, pace took it to the extreme. They would get on me about any little "dress code violation" I also believe they showed favortism. One of the staff member dress coded me for wearing a crop top. The next day that same staff member walked pass a girl wearing the littlest shorts and, did not say a thing. I know she saw her because, she looked right at her and, her friends and, smiled. I also don't know if race played a part in this as well. Speaking of race, many of the students would use the n word which they had no right using. As far as academics goes, I feel like they dumbed down the classes. I took an honor's class and, it didn't even feel like it. The hope teachers definitely showed favoritism. Also running around in hope everyday in the hot heat was miserable. There should have been more options. Running is not the only physical exercise. There should have been more options such as dance, yoga, basketball etc. The homecoming was so whack. Pretty much no one danced. Everyone stood in there little circles. People barely knew how to do the cupid shuffle. This school was just not for me. If you were raised near here then, it may not be as much of a culture shock for you. Someone who is use to the finer things in life will probably feel the same way as I. I am just so glad that I moved back up north and will never have to see that school again.

Teacher effectiveness: Somewhat effective

All of my teachers were pretty nice but, they never took the time to walk around to see if anyone needed help. Very few of them offered extra help out of class.

This is the best school i ever went too!!! I hear some other reviews that are not true like "there are rats running around the school" or "theres to many christians" or "too much drugs" but thats not really true. First of all, rats running around? Okay, that was the worst lie i ever heard pace is the cleanest school ever. To many christians? Yeah, sorry were a people who like are religion and go to our church, i dont even know how you can complain about somthing that isn't even aloud in school anyway. And the drugs? Well, every school has drugs, but schools up north and west are worse. The only reason you hear about drugs hear is because the staff actually catches kids when they have them, unlike the majority of other schools.

As a current student some of these reviews are apalling. Drgs- just as much as any high school. Teacher quality- very good, unless you happen to get the occasional lazy teacher. The two main problems are the hugely Christian bias and the clique-ish attitude of students. You rarley see students interact with others who differ in opinions. Sports are also a VERY big impact on student life, especially football (like most high schools) Socially the school is on the lesser side but academics are very well done.

Pace High School is the best School I have ever attended. It is better than some of the private schools I have even gone to! There isn't a day where I don't have fun! The teachers are very understanding and will work with you on whatever you need help with. Unlike what the person below be posted(P.S., go back to where you're from if you do not like Pace), it is a very clean environment. No rats, whatsoever. As for being overrun with drugs, I have never seen one type of drug on that campus before, and trust me, I know more than 80% of the student body. I am very happy with my time I have spent there.

We moved here a little over a year ago from a very highly rated school. We are very unhappy with Pace High. They have very few extracurricular activities outside of sports. The school is overrun with drugs and there doesn't seem that there is anything to do in town to keep the kids busy. The school has a coffee shop but didn't have a school library part of last school year. The gym is the smallest school gym I have ever seen and we came from a fairly small town. It is filthy and I was afraid to sit down. My son said you can sometimes hear rats running in the ceiling during classes. Overall, not a good experience. We are trying looking to relocate to get our children out of this school system.

Pace High School is a school that has a great educational program, fabulous teachers and administrators and has maintained the values and morals that many schools and parts of the country have completely dismissed. I definitely think this school is deserving of America's Favorite School!

The administration has high expectations of discipline, academics, with the faculty, staff displaying strong moral character. I have three children that all graduated from Pace. They have been very successful in college. Two of the three have post-graduate degrees. The last one is working on his BS and plans to go further.

I am so impressed with this school. They have high expectations for the children and the administration and teachers are awesome role models for the kids as a whole. They are an All- American wonderful school- one of the few that still values what our country was founded on.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the school!! I love the fact that it gives off a christian persona....and I hope it always stays this way! For those of you who do not agree with this and the way the administration believe....there are other schools to choose from...go somewhere else!! As for me and my house, school, county....we will serve the LORD!!

The school is great as far as academics & teachers go, however the administration needs serious revising. It's a public school and the administration acts as if it's a private christian school in many occurences. Other than the ridiculous admin. the school is awesome :)

Academic wise the school is great. They offer a lot to the students to grow and enrich themselves. However, there is a huge religious undertone that tends to be a bit over the line. It comes through in some of the classes and the way the teachers teach. Shouldn't be brought to the schools. Also, if you are at all 'different' and express yourself, you will have problems. Conformitty is their standard. Like the academics, do not like the administration.

I graduated from Pace High in 1980 and since have had 3 students graduate and currently have a 10th grader there. Pace has some of the highest FCAT scores in the state! They have an excellent sports program too! Great leadership!

Pace High School at best is average. There is a very strong religious undertone and at times crosses the line. Not being from this area and here only due to military transfer we found the structure and the cirriculum to be far below and other state we've been in. Yes, you'll do great if you play sports, or know someone who knows someone.

Id have to say this is an outstanding school. My dad is in the military so I've been to a few schools and this is by far the best. Great sports and NJROTC, their NJROTC unit was best in the world in 2003, and their sports teams have won way to many state championships to count. Great academics, challenging and helps a lot. I highly recommend going to this school. 6 star definitely.

I was a student at Pace High School all four years and it's an absolutely wonderful place to be. I got involved in Cheerleading in 9th grade and remained in it through high school. I had some really great teachers and coaches throughout my 4 years there who really cared about me as a person, not just some student. The best teacher I ever had to this day was Coach Greg Gill, who taught my Integrated Science Honors class. I had him as a freshman, and would go visit him even as a senior (him continuing to know me by my first and last name the whole time). It's a typical small-town school in the bible belt. Students party together on saturday nights and go to church on sunday mornings. It's a very cliquish school til our last year when everybody gets close. It's not good for those who transfer in

Pace may seem great from the outside, but from the inside you see the gaps where all that shine has simply ebbed off. Sports appear to be top priority in this high school, and parents are involved in these sports. Academically, however, that is another story completely; though that is not to say that the students do badly.

PHS is a good school overall. It has great kids and great teachers for the most part. Although with the large class sizes your child could be falling through the cracks and you don't know until it's too late. Teacher-parent communication is nearly non-existent. You must track down the teacher once you see a problem. Of course, then it is too late.

I absolutely hate the block system; you miss one class and that's equal to a week of school. I feel compelled to send my child to school sick just so she won't miss anything. The classes are way to long and my child says half the time they just sit there. It's just to benefit the teachers not the students.

Pace High School is, overall, a very fine school. It is reasonably strong academically, though some students may not feel academically challenged. If your child plays sports, you are in luck, as PHS has a very good sports program for both boys and girls. The teachers and staff are generally very caring and responsive. A few things to know: PHS has block scheduling (4 classes a day, at 1 1/2 hours each). The kids like it, though it can be difficult for students who transfer to or from another school in the middle of the academic year. The school has very few problems with student discipline (I don't worry about my two kids when they are at school). There is a strong Christian presence in the school (students and teachers), which we really like. The kids can be clique-ish--it helps to get active in clubs or sports. My rating: 4 stars.

I think Pace High School offers students the opportunity to earn a great education. My children have been involved in the honors classes at Pace and have done well in them. The teachers have done a good job at teaching the material necessary to perform well in class and on the ACT and SAT exams. My oldest son graduated in 2002 and was well prepared for college. I think Pace very much deserved the 'A' they received from the State.
