As a grandparent of 2 students who attended Pea Ridge for two years, I was very disappointed in the school as a whole. I felt that the staff was not attuned to the needs of the students. My grandson was identified as gifted two weeks into the year at his new school (also a public school in the area). His parents had been told, while he was at Pea Ridge, that he did not qualify. My granddaughter was never sufficiently challenged in her school work while at Pea Ridge. The school does not have a good handle on discipline. The discipline is either "jail like" or not there at all, no happy medium.
My daughter had her arm broken by a fellow student and the faculty, staff, & administration covered it up. The principal is not a strong leader - she rules with fear and intimidation. The teachers tend to be lazy and stop teaching after the FCAT. My children often complained of being bored (both made straight A's without really trying). I was extremely disappointed with our experience there. We have since transferred to Bennet Russell Elementary and we are much happier; however, as a military family, I will be glad when it is time to leave this duty station and my children will have better options for school.
i think it is an awsome very well keeped school and its very clean and the principal is super nice my daughter graduated on june 3 2009 and she said she had a blast but was sad to see her principal retire
Wow! My youngest son and my grandchildren all attend Pea Ridge and love their second home. That is how they make you feel. Everyone is great with the children. My 13 year old attended k-5 and misses all. They all are A-B honor students. I believe this is because of the special love of education that emanates from the staff. I will not move from location just for my kids to attend Pea Ridge. Thank you!
I have been very pleased with Pea Ridge Elementary. The teachers have been wonderful! My daughter has not had one bad experience. They have music & art classes. It is a tight knit school, like a small town.
Absolutely WONDERFUL school. The entire staff welcomes each student with open arms. The teachers are dedicated to providing each student with individualized attention. Mr. H, the principal, is like a second dad to most of the students. You get a warm feeling just walking through the schools door. I am so thankful my daughter attends Pea Ridge!
Wonderful staff, wonderful school! My daughter thrives in academics and the extracurricular activites. Very happy with every aspect of the school!
This is our first year here.I am very pleased with this school. Mr. H the principal is very kind and involved with the children. Mrs. Gault's is a very kind and caring teacher. This is the best school yet.
My son, Connor, just started Kindergarten this year at Pea Ridge. I have to say I love this school. The staff is wonderful from the Principal to the lunch ladies. My son's teacher could not have been better if I picked her myself. They have a beautiful library and wonderful music and art programs. My son is doing very well, and I believe that the enviroment of this school is about as condusive to learning as you can get. He was reading 1st level chapter books before Christmas. I volunteer at the school occasionally, and they encourage all parents to be involved as much as possible. It is a great school.
We've had two children attend Pea Ridge and love it. The teachers are caring and helpful and the administration is ready to listen.
