This school has very professional and caring teachers. Very impressed with the class offerings and style of teaching. No discipline problems or problems with bullying. Students are very welcoming and helpful to new students.

Huge religious undertone, same as Pace High. If you are atheist, Jewish, or if you belong to any other religious minority, you will be ostracised. If parents want their kids to have a Christian education, ship them over to PCA, because this does not belong in a tax-funded public school. Academically, the teachers teach solely off of the FCAT. The school is underfunded, mostly because more attention is paid to instilling the personal beliefs of the admins and the school board on the students, rather than educating them. Discipline can sometimes be a factor, and it seems that 2+2=football is the extent of the math program

We were very disappointed in what Sims had to offer. There are no art, home ec, specific computer classes. There is nothing extra besides the basic core classes. Only band and chorus. There are no organized sports offered through the school. My kids find school very boring. Nothing about it excites them. They do a good job teaching for FCAT. There are no 'rewards' or acknowledgement given to the kids until the end of the year.

Sims Middle School is outstanding in every way. The teachers care about the students, and academics are a top priority. There are few if any discipline problems, and parental involvement is extraordinary. The students, faculty, staff, and community all work together to make this school successful, and school pride is evident from the moment you walk in the door. I am a parent of a student at Sims, and I taught there for many years.

Great school, my children have really enjoyed it. Great band instuctor. I would love to see them teaching keyboard in the 6th grade though. Otherwise I have no complaints about the school, it's super.

Both of my children attended Sims, and overall I think it is an excellent school. The administrators are great--they really care about the kids. They also run a pretty tight ship--they don't put up with any nonsense. Discipline is swift, but fair. Some parents may be uncomfortable with this, so be aware. Frankly, I believe it really makes a positive difference in the students' behavior. Also, Santa Rosa County middle school do not have middle school athletic programs (a budget issue), another thing to consider. (Pace does have a good recreational sports program to fill in the gap.) There are plenty of opportunities at Sims for parents to volunteer--they have a strong PTA organization. All in all, a great school, not a lot of discipline problems.

This is a great school with many activities including band, Yearbook ect. However children with disabilities do not get the help that they need. If you child has no disabilities it is exceptional.
