I go to Palm Beach Gardens and it's amazing! My magnet program (Global Business) is fun and you can learn a lot from there for the big world. The teachers and students are friendly and supportive in everything that a student may do.

I graduated from Gardens in 2012 and it was getting worse and worse as the years went on. Many people think that it is a good school because it is new but it is so crowded and the teachers are not helpful.

My school is Palm Beach Gardens High which my grandson started this year. He can't wait to get up to go to school now. Who thought high school would be so easy? The students and teachers are friendly, helpful and make everyone feel special. In this day and age we need more schools like this to encourage students.

I graduated from PBGHS and now my Step-Daughter is a student there. I believe that there is and has always been problems there. I remember the year before I was going to go there, there was a riot in the lunch room between two rival gangs. I was worried about going there but if you stay with the "good" crowd and stay out of trouble your going to do great. The teachers I had were excellent and prepared me for college. Great atmosphere and the new school looks great.

I am very dissappointed that my child has been hanging with the wrong crowd in this school & their's illegal activity going on during school hours. I complained twice & thank goodness for the assistant principal. Very helpful! We are watching her like a hawk...but otherwise academically she excells with a 3.5 gpa.

PBGHS gave me an excellent start in my academic and professional life. The teachers truly care for their students, and go above and beyond the call of duty. The school leadership works tirelessly to ensure the best environment and education for all students and staff. I had an amazing experience, and will never forget my time there.

Going to Palm Beach Gardens High School was the best decision i ever made. The school is excellent, and they made my transition from 8th grade to 9th grade very easy. I am currently in the magnet program, which made it a lot easier to make friends and such. But i am now in the 11th grade, and i still love it. It is a place i enjoy and i could not see myself anywhere else. I would defianatly advise all parents to not only place there children in the magnet but too let them get involved, because the overall high school experience is not the same if you don't. Gardens is defianatly the best high school in Palm Beach. We have the most school spirit in the world, we are the only school that cheers when we loose a game. This is place to send you child. Go Gators!!!

I was excited about starting my junior year at PGHS, what a mistake. I had just moved to PBG from Oregon. The kids are judgemental and it's a very crowded school. I didn't feel like the teachers had enough time for every student and overall, I didn't feel comfortable. I was hesitant to swith to Dwyer but I'm so glad I did. I've made some of the best friends and I'm getting an excellent education. It's not a crowded school and the kids are excepting of everyone. Race, gender, sexual orientation.. whatever. I love Dwyer high school and our new principal has only made it an even more enjoyable experience.

This school has been amazing! Both of my children had always been in gifted programs through middle school and this high school gave them plenty of challenges to keep them interested! The magnet programs present the kids with many outstanding opportunities and experiences. The school spirit is unprecedented! It can't help but draw the kids in! Hats off to the principal and all of the wonderful, involved teachers who really seem to care!

This is an outstanding school. The school is very diverse, but there is a real direction for the school. The principal is young and energetic, and has drastically improved the school over the last three years. My kids have had the best experiences there, and I would recommend the school in a heartbeat.

Good sports magnet, but selection process is in question. Medical Magnet provides great instruction, and it has many required extracurricular activities. Lenient dress code, but somethings are enforced about it while most are ignored. Good Principal, works well with what he has. FCAT has improved, the cost being regular classtime focuses on it rather than the class itself. Finally, While behaviour during school is generally acceptable, Extracurricular and sports have a spotty record. Good school, but if you have a strong reader that wants in depth subjects, try suncoast. If you want to improve your student, go here.

My child is a freshman at PBGHS. My daughter has felt adrift the first half of the year. Mentors for ALL freshmen -- not just those in the magnet programs -- would be helpful. I've been impressed with the teachers and their commitment. There also seem to be plenty of activities. Sports rule! A fairly high number of 'bad actors' among the students, even in the advanced classes. Perhaps unavoidable in a big public school today? My child has not felt unsafe, however. School seems to exude an attitude that says, 'You're going to screw up, and we're waiting to catch ya!' My kid got a detention early on for showing up slightly late to a class because of getting mixed up on scheduling (Day One vs. Two). Not the end of the world, but just one example of the negative vibe I've sensed around the place. Could be way more upbeat.

This is a great school. The past year they really pushed the kids to succeed. It is also very spirited school and encourages kids to get involved with activities and clubs and to keep out of trouble. Everyone that works here is very understanding and nice.

Of course there is a huge emphasis on testing. It's a FLORIDA SCHOOL! Yes, there are some problems with discipline but there are at every high school. You can't let a few problems ruin a school reputation. This is a great school and if your student has his or her head on their shoulders than they will love the school, do fine and not cause any trouble. I've been doing great because I know what I want. People often say that the school is horrible because of some problems. These are the parents that say this mostly... We live in different times than when you were in high school (my parents always tell me that).

This school is not as great as it may seem. The teachers are not very caring and do not teach well. I often find that there are many fights and not much safety. You would be better off sending your child somewhere else.

I cannot think of anything good to say about this school. My son is bright but needs to be motivated. He is the type of student who falls through the cracks because he's not an athlete, not in student council and does not cause trouble, therefore he does not exist. This school has not provided any motivation at all and almost seems to be working against him. When I have been notified of problems he is having it is always too late to fix. On one occasion he skipped school for 5 days in a row and we were not notified until the 5th day. He later missed 3 weeks of one class and we did not receive notification until he returned to the class and was suspended. He should be graduating in a couple weeks, but will not because of inadequate assistance from the school.

Whoever says that this is a bad school is out of their mind. I love going to this school. If your kids dont like it there its probably because they dont have any friends. We have some pretty awsome sports at our school as well. Check it out sometime.

I believe if a stricter dress code were enforced the students would have a higher opinion of themselves and it would reflect in their behavior. I also have found little cooperation by the teachers when my daughter needed extra help to bring up her grades.

This school is good in some ways. My child is not happy to go there. and she is starting to skip school I'm geussing because she finds this school not helpful in anyway. She finds this school 'ghetto'. I think you should fix up the school and think more of your pupils!

After reading other comments, never knew that there was a Parents Booster Club... and as for the school, would rate it as average in the learning process. Daughter does not seem to happy there. Also, I am somewhat appalled at the lack of dress code, or rather 'no dress code.' These kids come to school looking like they just walked out of a dance club.

School is above average when it comes to knowing what is going on. Parents have a booster club for all sports programs to help raise and provide funds when needed for travel, equipment etc. School has good safety programs for the students yet does not exercise good safety programs for its phys. ed classes. Overall my children have all had a good experience at this school.

My daughter is a senior in the magnet program here at Gardens. We had a tough time deciding where to send her, but I think in the end we made the right choice. The staff is wonderful and there are enough high level courses (such as AP classes) that she will be well prepared for college. The work is not overwhelming so my daughter is able to participate in extracirricular activities, yet the course structure is still challenging. I am very pleased with the school.

Your basic public high school not bad not great. My child went there three years before transfering to a private school for senior year. Safety is average anything could happen at anytime. Academics is average not bad not great as most public schools they seem to cater to underachivers or problem kids.

Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
