Watson B. Duncan Middle School

If I could rate Principal Leadership zero, I would. They are condescending and disengaged from parent concerns. Perhaps if you are a nerdy mom who only lives to have a career PTO life will they relate with you. And with a population of 1500+ kids, it seems that apparently they (the administration) is above making mistakes. Sorry to tell you that you are tax funded personnell, not God.

If your child is in the Gifted program or AP this school is an excellent choice. The principal, Dr Jose Garcia is so dedicated to the school and the students. Even while most public schools have cut so many programs due to budgets, this school still encourages/supports student achievement with award ceremonies and parties for Honor roll each quarter. As well, security is taken very seriously as demonstrated by the full time Officer John on campus, the kids call him OJ and adore him. I have been most satisfied overall with my child's teachers but (3) really stand out as going above and beyond and they are Ms Bonnie Butterfield chorus; Ms Griffith Language Arts; Ms Ahearn Social Studies. We will miss them greatly next year for highschool. Any 'issue' that needs addressing is dealt with prommptly. I would definately give this school a try!

I would NOT recommend this school to anyone. Too many kids, very little supervison, lots of bullying, overall a stressful and not very friendly athmosphere.

I am currently going to go in 8th grade for the next year, I think this school is the best by far. I just wished for the Academy they will let you take electives then a language. All the teachers are very nice and want you to get a good education. Right now im in all honors geting all A's and im very happy!!!

This is my first year at Duncan,well its almost over,but the school is by far a good one just a few fights,the teachers are great,and i was failing math but the Compass learning odyssey program saved me.Also if your child wants to join band or chorus they have great teachers,Mrs.Roggen (Band) and Mrs.Butterfield (chorus) are both wonderful and helpful teachers.

Oh my goodness, I atteneded Duncan all three years. I graduated last year. That must have been the best experience of my life, what with making new friends to last a lifetime and having absolutely amazing teachers! I wish I could repeat my 8th grade year-completely unforgettable. There are constant fights, I won't deny that, but hang around the right people and it's fine. GO DUNCAN!

This is myssecond year at Duncan. It is a great school, including activities, sports, and clubs. All the teachers are very nice and well mannered. All the teachers inspired me to put my heart out and never give up, fight for what you want, quoted by Mrs. Turnquist ( Lang. Arts 6th grade). This school rocks! BY AO

I go to duncan it will be my 2nd year. I loved it all the teachers were very nice. You have to watch out find the right kind of people to hang out with or they will stabbed you right in the back and it will hurt.

i went to duncan for three years and i loved it there. the teachers and students are very nice. especially their band teacher

This school is supposed to be a good school. Which overall it is. But when the kids go to a guidance counsler complaining that they dont like certain teachers, they should be listened to, because it affects there learning. Some of the teachers need to learn to either toughen up, or lossen down!

The principal seems to be unhappy in this position. I think the move was not a good one. I wish the District would stop moving principals. Last year my child did so well but this year I worry. When the staff is unhappy it makes it hard on the students

I went to this middle school for the 3 years I had to and it was the best time of my life. I was easily getting A's and learning the material I needed. The people there are amazing and every one is different and your not being judged all the time. I am now a 9th grader and if anything, I missed watson B duncan middle school most.
