Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Dwyer was a great school when I attended in 2010. Everyone was very nice and I actually looked forward to going to school.

This school is worse than any we have encountered. Hoodlums run the place and lazy, tenured teachers don't care.

I strongly disliked this school while attending it. The poorly behaved students and unhelpful faculty led to my decision to switch schools (to Dreyfoos) where I would enjoy the rest of my three years of high school. Another reason I decided to leave was because of the unsanitary campus, including the bathrooms that either never had soap, toilet paper, or paper towel. Drugs and fighting are also an issue at this supposed "A" school. I'm very happy to be leaving after terrible year.

There is a large cell phone tower on the school grounds. What about the health of the kids? How can the school district risk the kids' health like this rather than make an effort to find safe ways to raise money?

I have a son who is currently attending Dwyer. We have been very happy with the school, the teachers and the programs they have to offer. We have had a great relationship with the staff, teachers, guidence dept. and coaches. Overall it is a very good school.

This is school is absolutely THE MOST terriblest experience in all my years of attending school. If you have a problem, one that is embarassing or different( only so few have this problem) then the teachers DO NOT CARE! In fact, they go along with the students and aid in bullying you( indirect and direct jokes, dont tell them to stop, get annoyed at you, obviously dislike your presence) although you barely even talk in class, and remain mannerful. This school only seems to welcome the rich and high class and favoritism by teachers is shown in their favor. I absolutely loathe this school, it is the equivalent of hell. Dont send your child here if you want them to be happy, but if you only care about their education, then go ahead. Nothing would go wrong except for their self esteem and social skills

its my first year at Dwyer and i couldn't be happier with the school. The teachers really care and they are easy to communicate with. Dr Lee is an amazing principle and is running a great school. I would highly recommend going to this school.

I came from another Highscool in the area, that was a terrible experince for me. My brother and I are very happy here, because my Mother is a very demanding parent as she teaches, and I now I am receiving the best education that is right for me. GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!

This is a great school, but some of the teachers are lacking. Dr. Lee is an amazing principle though and most of the teachers are amazing.

this has been one of the more unproductive years that I have seen here, and I have been working as a volunteer at the school for years. Too many cutbacks, getting rid of teachers, discipline problems, if I could switch out fo this school for next year, I most send my child to another school. This is not an option. Seems the Finance magnet problem is booming because that's where the school spends it's most time, effort and school budget. I am extremely dissappointed

Dwyer is an incredible school. It starts at the top with the principal, Dr. Lee and all the way down to the custodians. Everyone enthusiastically creates a great learning environment which allows the students to flourish.

Dwyer is the most exquisite school I have visited in quite a while. The students are well mannered and educated. The teachers are worthy of the title 'Teacher' and it is for these reasons why Dwyer has kept its title as an 'A' school.

My daughter is in her second year at Dwyer. We are very pleased with the educational environment at Dwyer. And unlike other area high schools which are way over capacity, Dwyer is under capacity. The turnover rate forteachers is very low, which says a lot about the school.

IAfter attending the open house this week, I came away extremely impressed with the faculty. Each instructor seemed genuinely enthustiastic about teaching and the challenges of inspiring students to think for themselves--not just memorize the material. My son was at Duncan MS when Dr. Lee was the principal and my impression of him was that he is very dedicated and innovative. Dwyer HS is fortunated to have another outstanding leader!

This is by far one of the worst schools ever! I hated my freshman year...Im not looking forward to my sophomores year at all. The teachers are harsh and students are mostly rude, half the school is coming from rivera beach which makes it hard to hang out and make friends with people who live so far away... Do your self a favor and go to jupiter! I hate dwyer

I currently attend William T Dwyer High School, and it has been one of the best experiences of my life. The extra curricular activites are amazing and the teachers truly care about pushing you to your highest ability. I was afraid to start out high school just like any other middle school student, even with the guidance of having my older sister there. But luckily Dwyer is the type of place where you automatically feel at home. Unfortunately my parents are moving so I will not be able to attend this school next year, and I can honestly say I going to miss everyone there.

There is a new principal and he changed many things. The biggest differences consisted of rules and discipline. Overall, the rules are more strict, yet there are a lot less violations.

The staff is open and willing to work with special needs of students. I was pleased with their attitutides about the capacity of non-mainstream learners. They are staffed and able to take care of more than just the normally-functioning child.

I attended Dywer from 99-02 and had some good experiences with the school. There are some exceptional teachers at Dwyer, as well as some not so exceptional teachers, but I would think that was at every school.

I have been involved at WTDHS for four years with one graduating and one just starting HS. The school is very open and inviting to parent involvement. I am very pleased with the school and with the quality of education and electives availability. The school has added 3 new choice programs to our already existing Academy of Finance. I am currently the Volunteer Coordinator and the SAC Co-Chair.

William T. Dwyer High School is a great choice all three of my kids have attended and they love it. They have excellent programs like, the Academy of Finance, The culinary Arts Program, JROTC, etc. They also Have wonderful teachers who care about you and try to help your student to graduate, all of the teachers are involved in watching the students play sports, helping them out in their clubs, etc. Also William T. Dwyer has an great athletic program, the Boys Varsity Basketball team one states, and they have excellent coaches, one excellent coach is Frederick J. Ross. If you are looking for your student to attend a well rounded school with great staff, teachers, coaches, and diversity then you should send them to William T. Dwyer High School.
