Because of the teachers and staff. the activities, the fun. Its an awesome chool and we have always loved curlew!
We've had three children go through Curlew Creek and it has been a great experieince for each of them. Our 'baby' is in 5th grade this year, and I will miss the Curlew Creek community. Whether you have limited time or a lot of time to volunteer, you can get involved. The PTA is very active and organized. Many teachers welcome volunteers to help in their class.
Curlew Creek is a wonderful choice for elementary students. We have found the teachers and administration to be caring as well as educationally motivated to reach & challenge our children. Parents are always welcomed & encouraged to volunteer in the school. Its a school that deserves its A rating.
Curlew Creek has been a great school for my children so far. My daughter has been going there for 3 years while my son just completed Kindergarten. I find that there is a very active PTA with many things going on at the school that parents with all different amounts of volunteer time available can participate in. I find the principal to be very positive and hands-on with what is going on in the school. His own daughter attends. I really am a big supporter of Curlew Creek. When my 3 year old turns 5, I know he will be attending as well.
This school has high credentials, is an 'A+' school and looks great from the outside. However, if you have concerns or problems that you cannot resolve with the teacher, the principal is notorious for 'listening and addressing' your concerns, but quietly sweeps them under the carpet. This school is recommended as long as you 'don't cause trouble' for the A+ status.
In this school, a teacher will not inform the parents on what is going on in the classroom, until it has gotten out of control. Either they don't know what is going on, or they feel sorry for the child rather than helping them learn from their mistakes. It takes a long time to get corrected work back. teachers can't keep up with the large class sizes.
