My daughter is flourishing at Center Academy. This was this best decision we could have made; to place her at this school. Our family life is so much more stress free. Our daughter is doing well in school and likes attending. We also have confidence that ALL the staff has our daughter's best interest at heart.

This school is honestly one of a kind. It enables students to gain their self-esteem back and capture a zest for learning. The environment is rich with loving hands, not just strictly teaching out of a book. The teachers and the Principal really care. They really do teach the whole child. I am forever grateful that I walked into their doors many years ago. I have no doubt many will walk away, not only with a solid education, but having left a better person.

The teacher/student ratio in my child's class is currently 23 to 1. There is an aid, but she is not a teacher. There is no 1-1 teaching. Most of the school day is spent working in workbooks. The kids work in cubicles, staring at a wall for most of the day.The teacher makes a sweep of the room, answers a few questions, then returns to her desk. Not sure if all of the teachers are Florida certified educators, but do know they are not ESE teachers. Many, many disgruntled parents here, which makes me question all these glowing reviews. There are no interventions geared towards those with learning disabilities. Might be an ok environment for ADHD, which was it's original intent, but not for those with learning disabilities.

The Center Academy SAVED our son. The public school system failed our son time and time again. He felt "stupid and unwanted" his words not mine. The Center Academy has been heaven sent. My child has built confidence and is thriving in his academics. The teachers and staff look at a child holistically. I have never seen students so understanding an accepting of their peers. This year we placed our nephew in the Center Academy. He is middle school age. He was failing in public school and we feared that he was a potential drop out. He now is making excellent grades. He no longer see dropping out as his only option. In my opinion the Center Academy is the best kept secret among private schools.

This school has helped change our child from a potential drop out from a large public school, to a child who is now doing dual enrollment. Attention is personal and learning is more individualized. School is still not my childs favorite activity but the daily battles to get them there have stopped. Thank You, Thank you, thank you!

Center Academy of Palm Harbor- we are very happy with our son's first three weeks at Center Academy. The program is designed in a very thoughtful manner to take the unique learning curve and emotional development of each child individually which, in the case of our son, is necessary to promote an optimal learning experience. The difference in our son's attitude today versus what he was facing in a public high school is too great to describe in words- three weeks ago we were woried that he would not be able to finish the year; today we are confident that at Center Academy he will not only complete all academic requirements bur flourish while doing so.

A Life Changing School for Us! From the moment we walked in to tour the school I knew this would be a different experience and I could not have been more right. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The children are welcoming. My son looks forward to school and is excited to learn. This was the best decision I have ever made. It is priceless to have him go from panic attacks before school last year to a smiles in the morning this year. Just a side note, if you have ever experienced an IEP team that has made you physically ill because they are so confrontational instead of working together as the team that they are supposed to be, you will truly appreciate the teamwork at Center Academy. A huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I just love this school.

Both of my sons attend Center Academy. As the father of a son on the Autism Spectrum, I could not be more proud of both how my son is doing at Center Academy, and how FANTASTIC the teachers and staff are with the children and parents. As a former Board of Education member in NY, I am equally impressed with the high standard of education offered by the school. I would recommend Center Academy to anyone!

My school is Center Academy of Palm Harbor, FL. I love all of the help that my son has received. He will be starting 12th grade this year with more confidence than ever. This school deserves the extra $5000.00 to expand their learning capabilities for more students to come!

My special needs daughter was not able to perform at a level that would keep pace with standardized requirements. Even with an advocate and IEP accommodations, I wasn't happy with the public options available. Center Academy welcomed her and was willing to evaluate her one on one and determine an IEP that was just that- an INDIVIDUAL education plan, that leverages her strengths and helps her develop as she's ready.

My son no longer struggles academically and socially; he has improved in comprehension, staying on task, and is completing class assignments with ease. Peer relationships and self-confidence has also improved and he is now working up to his true potential thanks to the administrative and teaching staff. In fact, my son is very excited that he is now college bound! Center Academy maintains a very low teacher-student ratio in the classroom and each teacher has an experienced teaching assistant. They utilize small group instruction, limit unnecessary external distractions, and provide ongoing positive reinforcement. The focus is on the individual student, the student s personal educational plan, and their ongoing success. Parent/teacher communication is also excellent. This is a great program for any student, especially for one with a unique learning style or need.

Center Academy has been the best place for my daughter to attend school. She has received individual attention from the teachers and aides. She has health issues along with learning disabilities, and has been accomodated for all of the health concerns. Suzy Gaudin, the director, is helping us as we work with vocational rehabilitation for after graduation. The receptionist always answers my questions, or finds the answers, and gets right back to me. Everyone at Center Academy goes above and beyond to give each child the opportunities that they need to succeed. I am very pleased that we found Center Academy!

This school has been a lifesaver! My son started when he was in elementary school and he just graduated from this school with college credits! Because of the small class size and individualized attention he received, he is eager to continue his college education. We never thought we would hear our son say he wants to go to college and now he is starting in the fall at a local college. Thank you Center Academy!.

I believe this school is meant strictly for kids that DO NOT make it in any other school. LOTS of behavior issues at this school and kids that get expelled from other privates around the area. Basically, kids sit in partitions and in my opinion do busy work and are babsat. However, for kids that have behavior issues maybe that works...

My son has attended this school for only 3 months and his self steem and motivation has increased a lot, now he has more friends, and he wants to take dual enrollment classes for his junior year. Before he went to this school he was shy, did not want to study. Actually did not want to go to any school but now he is happy and motivated. Academically he was always very good and he is still very good..

My son has attended this school for the past 3 years after attending public school and just being passed along. He has done extremely well here, likes it and is happy here. His teacher is great! There is very little homework, the kids proceed pretty much at their own pace, which works very well for my son, as I was worried about that at first, but turns out I had nothing to worry about. The kids all seem to be happy here as well, and the faculty are all very friendly and easy to deal with. He will be here until he graduates and I just wish I had discovered this school earlier!

It is a great school for children with ADD or ADHD with 1 on 1 attention for each student. The teachers care about the students and develop individual educational plans for each student. They focus on teaching children not preparing for the FCAT's! Best thing I ever did for my child.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
