This school changed our lives. My son was struggling in public school and at Center Academy he is finally living up to his potential. Center Academy understands ADHD and how to best help children that suffer from it. He would never have comfortably adjusted to public middle school. The school staff would do anything to help my son. I appreciate the teachers, Ms Gaudin and Ms Swain so much!! I work in the public school system and tell everyone who will listen how great Center Academy is!!

My son no longer struggles academically and socially; he has improved in comprehension, staying on task, and is completing class assignments with ease. Peer relationships and self-confidence has also improved and he is now working up to his true potential thanks to the administrative and teaching staff. In fact, my son is very excited that he is now college bound! Center Academy maintains a very low teacher-student ratio in the classroom and each teacher has an experienced teaching assistant. They utilize small group instruction, limit unnecessary external distractions, and provide ongoing positive reinforcement. The focus is on the individual student, the student s personal educational plan, and their ongoing success. Parent/teacher communication is also excellent. This is a great program for any student, especially for one with a unique learning style or need.

Center Academy has been the best place for my daughter to attend school. She has received individual attention from the teachers and aides. She has health issues along with learning disabilities, and has been accomodated for all of the health concerns. Suzy Gaudin, the director, is helping us as we work with vocational rehabilitation for after graduation. The receptionist always answers my questions, or finds the answers, and gets right back to me. Everyone at Center Academy goes above and beyond to give each child the opportunities that they need to succeed. I am very pleased that we found Center Academy!

This school has been a lifesaver! My son started when he was in elementary school and he just graduated from this school with college credits! Because of the small class size and individualized attention he received, he is eager to continue his college education. We never thought we would hear our son say he wants to go to college and now he is starting in the fall at a local college. Thank you Center Academy!.

I believe this school is meant strictly for kids that DO NOT make it in any other school. LOTS of behavior issues at this school and kids that get expelled from other privates around the area. Basically, kids sit in partitions and in my opinion do busy work and are babsat. However, for kids that have behavior issues maybe that works...

My son has attended this school for only 3 months and his self steem and motivation has increased a lot, now he has more friends, and he wants to take dual enrollment classes for his junior year. Before he went to this school he was shy, did not want to study. Actually did not want to go to any school but now he is happy and motivated. Academically he was always very good and he is still very good..

My son has attended this school for the past 3 years after attending public school and just being passed along. He has done extremely well here, likes it and is happy here. His teacher is great! There is very little homework, the kids proceed pretty much at their own pace, which works very well for my son, as I was worried about that at first, but turns out I had nothing to worry about. The kids all seem to be happy here as well, and the faculty are all very friendly and easy to deal with. He will be here until he graduates and I just wish I had discovered this school earlier!

It is a great school for children with ADD or ADHD with 1 on 1 attention for each student. The teachers care about the students and develop individual educational plans for each student. They focus on teaching children not preparing for the FCAT's! Best thing I ever did for my child.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
