As a former public school educator, I knew when our daughter was born that I needed to find an alternative approach to a broken system. If done properly, a child's elementary school experience should be filled with wonder, excitement, a sense of community, respect and the JOY of being a child. We absolutely found that in Suncoast Waldorf School. Now in the 4th grade, our sweet girl has been thriving in this family environment since age 3. The teachers and staff are caring for the individual child while giving them a love of learning, play, environment and community. If only the public schools in our nation would model this approach to learning we would have an intelligent and compassionate society. It truly is a beautiful approach to learning.

We recently moved to Palm Harbor from Chicago and the Chicago Public School system and were excited to learn that there was a Waldorf School in the area. My daughter entered Waldorf school in 7th grade. Most of the kids in her class have been together since kindergarten, and have had the same wonderful teacher since 5th grade. The staff are incredibly dedicated to the students, and the curriculum incorporates a great balance of arts, sciences, math, handwork, music, and physical activity--versus CPS which eliminated art, had 15 minutes to wolf down lunch, no recess, and spent half the year preparing students for the ISAT. Waldorf focuses on learning, rather than teaching to the test. Above all, for the first time in her life, my daughter claims that she loves school. They don't depend on technology to teach at Waldorf, but kids still have their phones, read assignments on their kindles and type out papers like any other middle schooler. Instructors follow a certain philosophy in their teaching methods but do not impose any "dogma" on the students. The difference at this school is that there's a joy of learning, and joy of simply being at school, that I've never seen anywhere else.

My daughter began attending Waldorf this year after several in the public school setting. I am confident in her teacher, curriculum, and the staff in general. Moreover, My daughter loves everything about this school and looks forward to going everyday.

This is our 8th year with the school, our oldest daughter is now in pre-IB High School and our younger in 5th grade. This is truly a wholesome education, our children are avid readers, love the arts; be it musicals, paintings, drama, orchestra, etc. They have love and respect for the earth and its inhabitants. Science, math and botany is hands-on; finally my 'brown thumb' curse is over! I can go on and on, but I think the best review comes from my daughter who loves her teacher and school and wakes up happy to go to the Waldorf school in the mornings.

This is my son's second year and he loves it. They do a wonderful job of blending arts and academics, and integrate plenty of hands-on activities to keep the children interested and engaged. Tell me of one other school where the children don't want to go home at the end of the day, don't want summer vacation to be so long! Small, intimate classes with personal attention, a real community feel and a dedicated, loving staff who still have a passion for teaching!!!

This is a great school, arts based education that infuses the children with a love of learning and gives them the skills to not just compete but to change and lead in the new world that they grow into. My children have show amazing changes in investigative thought processes, and ask intelligent questions, continue to surprise me and my wife everyday. Great sense of community for the whole family. Highly recommend this school for pre-K through 8th grade.

I love this school and you will too, come and see us! The children start two foreign languages in the first grade, as well as all the standard subjects (math, science, etc.) My daughter has learned so much and in a wonderful, positive atmosphere.

I love this school!! My son has been here since Kindergarten and is now in second grade, and he couldn't be happier. This school offers a perfect blend of academics and the arts. I couldn't imagine him in any other school. Kate Capra
