The school is excellent. The teachers are very caring and are also excellent.. When my first daughter started the school she was behind. She is now dong beautiful and moved ahead.
My 9-year-old attended this school last year and it was NOT a good experience. The classes are overcrowded, the teachers are overwhelmed and the students are WILD to the point of dangerous. Unruly and slow (many had failed at least once and several had failed twice!) students prevented adequate learning for the whole class. This area is great for vacation but not a good place to make your home. We feel like we completely wasted an academic year for our child. Praying and trying our best to relocate!!
Best playground. Good home feeling. Close to the beach... Great field trips. Dwon to earth teachers and principal
I am extremely happy with this school ! My son is in first grade and he loves it. The reading program is great and encourages children to read. It is very easy to arrange Parent/teacher conferences . I always find that my child's teacher is accessable. My son's confidence has improved dramatically and he never complains about going to school! We have been re-zoned this year, but this will definately be my choice school!!
My daughter attends Beach Elementary School and is in the fourth grade. She has always dreaded going to school. Being her new to the area, I am thrilled that she is excited to go to school each day. I am sad to say that we have been rezoned for the other school, but I hope she will stay at Beach. Mrs. Tierney always has a smile on her face and the administration is always saying hello. Thank you for making my daughter want to go to school. I hope next year she will be at home at Beach School and she will have a wonderful teacher like Mrs. Tierny.
The faculty is well-educated, friendly, and professional. The classrooms are warm, inviting, organized, and structured. I am so glad my child attends this school. She has enjoyed school since kindergarten. She never wants to miss a day.
This school had horrible parent communication. I was not informed even on what day school was out so I went to the office the day before and found out that it was that Friday and it was a half day! I would never have known if I didn't go in. The last half of the year my first grader never had a parent teacher conference. I never would have met the teacher if I didn't go in and check on my son. Great reading program almost too intense. First grade read 90 min first thing in the morning. I never made him read at home he was to burnt out.
My children have been at Beach for 5 and 6 years. It is a wonderful school. My children have received an excellent education. One has moved on to the advanced program in Middle School. The other is in 4th grade. It is the only school in the district that offers computer classes weekly to the students. My children knew how to do a Powerpoint presentation at the age of 8. Kudos to you, Beach Elementary!
Academically Hutchison Beach is an excellent school. The special areas are a bit lacking and there are few to no organized sports activities available to students. Parent are welcomed and there is a great deal of parental involvement.
My child is in special ed. and I am sorry to say that I am very disapointed with the ESE programs in all of the panhandle area schools. I don't feel that the personal needs of my child are being poperly addressed, and I don't feel that students are properly supervised.
