As one who has attended all the different variations of schools in Bay County, I can honestly say that CCS is the best school by far. As for the member who posted on May 10, 2007, all problems that the school has had have been disbanded by the new principal, Glenda Delmar. I expect CCS to rise to the top once again, as the school is creating a real high school next year. The staff devotes time and love to teach all thier children Christian values on a Biblical Standpoint! Go Lions!

My Son just started sixth grade here from a different private school. We are new to town and we enjoy having our Son here. They staff and other parents have been exceptionally friendly and kind. Great school. I'm impressed with the class size as well as academics. Meeting with the principal was a great experience. I'm greatful to be apart of Covenant Christian School!

My oldest started K-5 in 2003 at Covenant, after attending a private preschool elsewhere. We were impressed with the sweet & kind spirit we encountered there. When things began to change, we put our three children in a local charter school (2010), only to cringe at the curriculum and behaviors of the children. I found that since God isn't allowed in the school system, he doesn't show up. Thankfully, Covenant Christian School has made leadership changes, and is now focused on preparing our children to walk in this world while maintaining integrity, academics, morality, and most of all, faith. I would encourage any Christian parent to consider giving their children the best educational environment, hands down, in this area. After 2 years in public school, I moved my children back to C.C.S., for I want them bathed in His goodness, instead of the ugliness of of secular education. I would sacrifice my living standards to pay for this excellent faith-based education. I love that my children are surrounded in His love all day, not just at home. They love it too! P.S. Consider not the reviews around 2009-2010, for CCS is a completely different school from that time.

I've attended Covenant for four years and my time there has been a blessing. The classes are challenging and the teachers really care about their students. This is a great school!

My child attended Covenant from k-9 grade. I moved him to a charter school thinking it would be an advantage rather in the "protected atmosphere" of a Christian school. BIG mistake, the charter school was nothing but another public school dressed in fancy talk. At CCS courage for your convictions, integretry, teamwork, respect and honesty were all daily teachings by a staff that KNEW my child as a person not a number to get more funding, all things that were missing from his charter school. Needless to say he is back at Covenat and I can rest easily when he goes off to school knowing he is in good hands.

If you want an excellent education for your child that is both Christ-centered and Classical, then CCS is the only school in Bay County that can provide that for you. The Christian teachers and staff there provide a safe, nurturing, and loving environment that cannot be matched. From PreK3 through 8th grade, CCS students receive an education that follows the Classical Ed developmental principles of the Trivium with all subjects integrated and examined from a Biblical world and life view. Students are taught not what to think, but how to think as they interact with issues of prominence in today's culture. The PreK program at CCS surpasses all other early childhood programs in this county! The School of Grammar (Grades K5-5th) provides rigorous academics in a loving, orderly, and nurturing environment. The School of Logic (Grades 6-8) gives pre-teens and teens room to grow their faith and debate, discuss, and examine all things thru the lens of Scripture. The teaching of Latin begins in 2nd grade and what these children are able to retain and recite in the following years will blow you away! The school-wide IOWA test scores put CCS students in the top national percentiles. C 4 Urself

Truth, honor, and courage. In a time when truth is mocked, honor forgotten, and courage is nowhere to be found, there are precisely the principles that CCS is teaching students. Not only does CCS maintain Christ-centered curriculum, but they use Classical curriculum. Kids learn more than how to manage a specific vocation- they learn how to think, and think in Latin at that! I could not recommend a school more. If you want an environment where your children will excel, think, and grow under constant prayer from it's staff, CCS is it.

awesome teachers, great atmosphere! This school also has a great christian dance program. We are quite happy with the academics, as we feel our child is being challenged. The school also offers quite a few extra-curricular activities.

Covenant is a God-centered school that believes in growing the whole child both academically as well as spiritually. At CCS we are not just a school we're a family.

We have 2 sons that graduated from CCS who are now FSU, Tallahassee, graduates and are working full-time in their chosen career fields. We are so grateful for the excellent educational, social and spiritual foundations that CCS helped establish in their lives. ---------Worth every penny we invested!

I am a parent of 3 children that go to Covenant Christian School. I love this school for many reasons, but first and for most because they intergrate our Lord and Savior into everything they do. I love the atmosphere of all the kids feeling welcome and invited into the school. I love the ability as a parent to be involved in my children education as a volunteer at the school. I have been very pleased with the curriculum and I feel my children are above average in all areas because the academics is structured, and well balanced. CCS is the best choice for my family.

I graduated from covenant in 2006. I received a presidential scholarship to samford university, and ccs prepared me so well to excel in life. I attended ccs from k3-12th grade, and I don't regret any of it. Covenant is my second home, and the people there are my second family. I'm still good friends with my teachers, and the high school is so tight-knit and close. Great sports and leadership opportunities. I am a proud graduate of covenant christian school! go lions!

I have 2 children who have attended Covenant Christian since preschool. They offer a complete package: great academics along with a small class size and most importantly, Christ is at the center of every aspect of their teaching.

Covenant Christian School provides a value-based education that unites home, church and school. They are concentrated on a Christian centered education. They stress the importance of patriotism, family values, and strong character. Teachers and staff are very personable and extremely helpful widespread. Most importantly; my child loves going to school!

I am very pleased with the academics and spiritual emphasis that I have found at Covenant. I have a 4th grader, 1st grader and soon to be preschooler. I intend to continue through 12th grade. The teachers are caring and supportive of the students, the administration is helpful and receptive of parent involvement and communication.

We have loved our three years at Covenant. We would not consider sending our children to any other school. Not only do they offer strong academics, but they also focus on the heart of the child. Each subject has the Bible as its foundation and cornerstone, which means that the school is reinforcing what we are teaching at home.

This is my third year at Covenant as a teacher. My three daughters are also enrolled here. It is a great Christian school with wonderful caring teachers. The teachers push the students to reach their full potential -- for this I am truly grateful. I would recommend Covenant Christian School to anyone who wants their children in a safe, loving Christian environment.

The Covenant experience has been great for our family of five. The school staff and curriculum both promote the things we stive to achieve at home--huge emphasis on family and character development. Academics definately measure up with the other schools in our area--in fact, our kids are generally advanced in all areas of academics when compared to the neighborhood kids. Great environment, small class sizes, safe grounds---can't say enough about the school in general.

Covenant Christian has many positive aspects however the negative ones over run the positive experiences. We choose the school due to the small class size, Christian teachings, and on the recommendation of a current student s parents. I would not recommend this school for various reasons; Christian values are being taught at this school however few children and parents are practicing these Christian values. Teachers are being under paid and you can see it in the quality and quantity of the teachings in each subject. (Not all teachers) The Art program is a joke. Food is not a well balanced meal. Dress code is also being ignored. I could go on.

We have had a great year in Pre-K 4. Our son really enjoys his teacher and have come home able to quote some age appropriate bible verses. He's learned songs about obedience and working with other students. We're planning on having him attend Covenant as long as we live in Panama City. Great school.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
