Amount of homework: Not enough
July 24, 2015
2 of my children NEVER had homework as if the school work they were doing was enough. Not!!!!!

Develops grit: Strongly disagree

You cannot display determination as a child when it is not expressed to you. Persistent no one child can do or wear something and if another child does it they are sent home.

Develops respect: Strongly disagree

In order to give respect you have to give it. These children are shown a lack of respect and a lack of empathy.

They are there to get the hours done for the day and send kids on their merry way! No homework ever, no correct preparation for standardized testing. Everything is just wrong!

No its not fair when every child does not get a fair chance at an education. No child left behind is not practiced at this school.

I have never experienced such carelessness for faculty and staff. I have 3 students who attended, how do you have the correct number for 2 of my students but for the student you seem to have so much "trouble" with you have the incorrect number and because YOU have the incorrect number you call the police to my home! Stay far away from this school!!!!!

Teacher effectiveness: Very ineffective
July 24, 2015
The staff, administration and teachers are there for a paycheck. They do not care for the well being of your children. They have no problem throwing a child out of school. They don't have the patience or the necessary tools to deal with special needs children, so they automatically build a case on your child only to send them to St Andrew behavioral school. Instead of trying to help my son they hindered his education, expelled him the last 30 days of school so he's learning absolutely nothing. I wouldn't allow their counselor to evaluate my son because it would have been biased, which is also a reason for them expelling him. The assistant principal WATCH OUT! The police was called several times because they couldn't get ahold of me at times through no fault of my own! So make sure at all times they have the CORRECT telephone number listed for all children! This school is ridiculously a joke!

Very good school, caring educators and support staff. Seriously hampered by both local economic background of attending population and percentage of special education enrollees which has a dramatic and negative impact on resultant and dominating grading criteria imposed by State agencies. Highly qualified teaching staff very much sees smiling faces, not statistical numbers in their day to day. A primary detriment to quality teaching results is the very pronounced lack of parental interest or concern in their childrens education.

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school's profile?

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
