Lake Forest Elementary is a wonderful place for learning. I previously wrote a blog (06/11/2011) about my dissatisfaction about the frequent rotation of my children s teacher. Just to recap (My son is now in the 3rd grade and has had at least 8 to 9 teachers since starting Lake Forest in 2007/8. Some left for reputable reason (other opportunities/sick) but most seem to have left for undisclosed reasons. My daughter is in 1st grade and seems to be following the same trend. In 1st grade alone she has had 3 different teachers). I am happy to report (in my opinion) that much needed progress has been made. My children have the same wonderful teachers for the past year and they are doing very well. I would like thank the teacher of Lake Forest Elementary for doing a wonderful job. I would also like to welcome Miss Boyd (principle) to our family. She has done a wonderful job at Boulevard Heights Elementary (assistant principal) and I am certain that she will do an even better job at LFE. Shout out to: Miss Ross (K) you wonderful. Thank you!! Miss H. Pascal (4th) you re magnificent Mrs. Marino (2nd) superb To all others teachers and staff thank you. You are appreciated.

I have two children that attend lake forest and I feel the principal and her staff are wonderful. They are very caring and will do anything to help your child succeed. They have a wonderful academic program, for instance the 5th grade college, also the ace program is wonderful. I applaud all the teachers and staff members there because they go above and beyond. The only thing that disappoints me is that there is not enough parent involvement in the pto, sac, and saf meetings. Parents wake up and get involved in what is going on at your childs school!

Before sending your child to this school I suggest that you spend more than a few days observing in various classrooms and in the hallways, especially after school. students are treated with hostility by the adult staff including the principal. there is a lot of yelling, degrading comments and public humiliation of all students. the reigning philosophy seems to be motivation by fear. the principal is very confrontational and unsupportive of her staff and parents.

'Both my children have gone to Lake Forest after move from Miramar Elementary. Each child is encouraged to do their personal best without being labeled as the smart or dumb kids. On Miramar, they have problems of comprension. They feel happiest on Lake Forest because receive more attention from his teachers and they understand them better than the other school. Thank you for bringing out the best in my children and giving them the encouragement and confidence they need to go out into the world! '

I went to Lake Forest Elementary from Kindergarten until Fifth grade. Lake Forest was the first school that I ever went to. Everyone was sooo nice. I realy enjoyed the school and the teachers are the best. It was really easy to talk to any of the teachers and even the principal knew me. Whenever she would see me she would say hi to me by my name and everything. All the teachers knew me and i'm glad that i went to that school. Now I am going into the 8th grade and I have learned a lot. So thanks =0)

About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
