My child had a wonderful and caring experience at this school. His VPK teacher Miss D was awesome. Cared about her kids all while being firm. And children (in this day in age) need a firm loving teacher otherwise they'll walk all over you. It's a small school; goes only to grade K. All the teachers knew the kids by name. You don't have to be in that teacher's class and she'll know who you are. The kids are taught the bible and about their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which they won't get at traditional schools, unless they are faith-based. Their abeka curriculum was ok, but felt it wasn't rigorous enough when compared to the rigor of charter schools and others. And this was all based on the kinds of homework/classwork he'd come home with, which paled in comparison with what my sister's daughter (who also was VPK but at a charter school) would have. You'd think that they were sending her home with assignments designed for a 3rd grader and up. I mean the things that she was being taught, I thought there's no way Lexi could be understanding this type of work. My son now attends the same school as his cousin. He struggled at first. Again this goes back to the point I made above with what he was being taught-abeka, versus the curriculum at his present school. But he's on top of his game now and both kids are excelling...That was my experience with KOP. Not a bad one and not a bad school. Thanks for reading.
I love Kids of Promise. Both my sons attended KOP from 2006-2011, When I tell you they are awesome. The teachers and staff really caters to the needs of the kids. They made me as a parent feel very welcomed. They even buzz you in before you can enter for the safety of the childrfen. However, the place is clean but does need a little upgrading. They are in the process of building a new church. Also, every Christmas and Easter the children have programs where you as a parent get to see your child's talent.
My daughter attended this school for 3+ years, and received a great education! Her first year in public school she was immediately placed in advanced classes. At end of first grade, she was reading at a 5.5 grade level...at end of second grade, she was reading at 9th grade level! I would highly recommend this school.
EXCELLENT SCHOOL! High teacher/child ratio, lots of attention, great curriculum. My daughter attended for 3 years, and when she entered public school, she was way ahead of the game...extremely high test scores and performance.
This school has been a true blessing for us! staff is wondeful, my daughter is happy, loves all the teachers, cries when she leaves....i never thought i see the day when she would be crying because she wants to stay!
