I agree wholeheartedly that Silver Palms Elementary is the best school in Broward County. In fact, it is the best school in the whole world!! I know, because I teach there. Every day I see caring teachers, paraprofessionals, cafeteria workers, and custodians. All of us have a job to do that make our school terrific. The leadership at Silver Palms is outstanding. Our Principal, Mrs. Walker, and our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Helman, provide such a loving, warm, and caring atmosphere. You can tell immediately when you walk into Silver Palms Elementary that it is one school that stands out among the rest. It is top notch in my book!
THE BEST ELEM. SCHOOL IN BROWARD COUNTY !! The principal Mrs. Walker and Asst. Prin. Ms. Helman, are both wonderful, you see them everyday helping the kids as they go home or as they enter the school. All the teachers are excellent, my 2 kids are in this school and how I wish they can stay here until high school. The teachers are approachable and do really care for the students, they are friendly and my kids love them all. They both feel welcomed and loved in this wonderful school environment. To all the staff and teachers at SPES you guys are doing an awesome job. Thanks a lot !!
This is a GREAT school! Excellent team of teachers and staff who really care about children and their excellence in education. Our child always says that this is the best school ever. The principal and staff always maintain safe and warm learning environment.
This is one of Pembroke Pines' best elementary school. The teachers and staff are very caring. The parents are always involved with their kids. The Principal can always be seen in the hallways talking to kids and parents. This is a great norturing environment. Principal is always greatful for the parent turnout on any event. The kids are just great!
I have to agree with the previous post, Ms. Lawrence and Mrs. Jones are two of the best teachers at this school. But let's not forget the music teacher who has done an exceptional job helping the students put on incredible shows each year. We are lucky to have such a dedicated group of individuals.
Although this school is still good, its heart and soul was lost when Mr. Bullock left on a promotion. The community and 'family' atmosphere is no longer what it once was, but the teachers are still good and helpful.
Silver Palms elementary is a wonderful school. The academic staff is very involved and concerned with the student's education. The school should work on converting the portables into a permanent building.
I am very impressed with Silver Palms. They test to identify the skills level in each grade. My son excels in academics in 1rst grade and has been placed in an advanced group of 1rst graders class. This keeps him challenged and not bored. He learns at an advanced pace over typical 1rst grade classes. My daughter on the other hand has academic difficulties. She is in the 4th grade. The school testing she has received has identified her weaknesses and she has been placed in special programs to address these weaknesses. This is in addition to her normal 4th grade class. The school really mentors to the individuality of each of its students. They then place each student in the enviorment that will best assist them to receive the most of their education. I give silver Palms an 'A' Plus rating.
Silver Palms is an awesome school. All the teachers are great. There is always a high percentage of parents involved with PTSA activities and they try evry possible way to get more funds for schools. Music, art and physical education programs are available. Staff is great and always friendly. It is a great pleasure for any student to study in such a wonderful school.
silver Palms is a great school given a grade of '5'. There are specials everyday for an hour where you learn art skills, music skills, tips for health and fitness, one on one with computers, and time for imporving reading skills. You can enter contests and Ben michealson the author has visited the students. there are field days, much field trips, and other events where equality and fairness are learned. Parents are vary involved and are asked for just about everything. They can help with book fairs, holiday gift shops, talent shows, and magic shows, field trips, or can be a class mom or dad. they are invited to student of the week breakfasts and honor roll assemblies. there are many partners in learning for this school and also many family nights hosted at conveinient places. It's a great learning environment.
My daughter is currently in third grade and has attained honor roll in both of her first two third grade marking periods. I attribute this to her constancy but also to the commitment being made by the faculty and staff of Silver Palms Elementary School. There is always some new creative approach to keep the students' interest high. We have grown to appreciate Mr. Bullock's participation and are sad to see him leave. We are hoping that the new Assistant Principal will keep up the record left by Mr. Bullock. The success of our child depends on the commitment of the faculty and staff of Silver Palms Elementary and right now, I like her chances. Thanks to all the wonderful teachers at Silver Palms Elementary with special thanks to those that taught my daughter namely; Mrs. McGhee, Mrs. Gonzalez, Mrs. Eloi and Mrs. Arnaez. Sheik Aziz
My son is in second grade and the majority of the teachers have been great. My son enjoys going to school and has improved significantly in his reading and the comprehesion of what he has read. It has been easy to communicate with the teachers. The teachers have kept me informed of my son's weaknesses and strengths. The ESOL counselors have been very informative and helpful.
The Asst Principal, Mr Bullock, does a great job of keeping up with student activities. His caring attitude radiates onward through his teaching staff. My daughter is fortunate to be in this school. However, I have heard from numerous sources that the middle schools in Pembroke Pines have problems. I will be putting her in private school in 6th grade.
I am very satisfied with this school, I think the teachers that my child has experienced have been outstanding and my son has learned a lot in a very positive atmosphere.
I am satisfied with the school in all aspects. I think it's good that the school prints out information to the parent's in Spanish. We have a large number of hispanics in the school. I am a non-hispanic but grew up with parents who's primary language wasn't English. I feel because they didn't speak English well they shyed away from involvement. Continue the great work Silver Palms especially with all these cut backs.
