I am a worker at Lincoln Park Elementary and this is one of the best staffs I have ever had the pleasure to work with. We strive really hard to make sure that the children have a good quality education with the resources that we are given. Rest in Peace Ms. Ford
I did my student teaching at Lincoln Park and I also did some substituting throughout Escambia County; I thought that Lincoln Park was one of the worst schools Ive been in. The academics were weak and the children were unruly.
My child has been attending Lincoln Park since she started Pre-K. They do have a Pre-K program for 4 year olds. The Pre-K students attend school the entire day like all other students. You will have to call the school to see if they will accept 3 year olds in their Pre-K Program. They have in the past. They do not have many extracurricular activities. Only PE as far as sports is concerned. They do however, have a music teacher and art teacher with their own rooms to be able to provide more resources for the children. The level of parent involvement is very high. The school encourages parents as well as other members of the family, to take part in their kid's academic career by have reading sessions for parents to attend for all grades. They also invites parents on field trips, to help with the school carnival, eat lunch with kids.
After having four children attend Lincoln Park, I can say that parents have always been encouraged by the staff to be involved in the education of their children. Lincoln Park has undergone renovation that has enhanced the school tremendously. There were never any problems with race relations and all the chldren seemed to treat each other fairly and were treated by the staff equally, as well. A great start for our children came from here and we now have 2 college graduates and the other two are still working on their college educations. Four out of four success stories in this family started at Lincoln Park.
