As a mother, the choice I made to withdraw my child from public school, was by far the smartest decision I've made. Before attending this school, he was enrolled in Escambia county's "school for the gifted" however, he was never challenged or motivated to be involved in class activities. Pensacola School of Liberal Arts stimulates his desire to learn and keeps him on his toes DAILY by discussing matters that are relevant in life experiences. My child's education is by far the most important thing for me in his young adult life and, now that I've found SOLA I'm confident he will graduate with a full scholarship offer to several different choice colleges. Most importantly, he is happy again and excited to go to school every single day!! Thank you SOLA
I would like to thank those who have shared their great experiences at Pensacola Private School of Liberal Arts, and I hope those who are seeking an alternative to today's public schools find these reviews helpful in their decision making. William J. Holston founded our school in 1969 and spear headed the program that thrives today. After 42 years of teaching, we all knew there would come a day that he would have to pass his torch. Unfortunately, our "Captain" passed away on May 10th, 2011. Shortly after his passing a new principal was chosen by the Board of Directors to fill some very big shoes. I would like to ensure those who continue to have faith in us, that the SOLA staff will perpetually pass on the educational legacy of William J. Holston. Those who graduate from our school not only receive a standard high school diploma recognized by the State of Florida, they take the tools with them to become a well-rounded adult and individual. One may ask the SOLA alumni as well as those who have had shorter experiences with us, and most would agree that SOLA is not just a school. SOLA is a place that forever touches the heart in ways that words just cannot properly explain.
My daughter graduated from Pensacola School of Liberal Arts and it was worth every penny I paid in tuition. As a freshman, my daughter's educational needs were all but ignored at the public High School she attended. We moved her to PNS School of Liberal Arts where she developed a love of learning and was provided an exceptional, rounded education - better than anything the public system could offer. It was the best parenting decision I ever made.
Liberal arts is a wonderful school. I graduated here in 2004 with great grades. I am now attending the University of Florida after time spent at PJC. I not only learned academics but was instilled with the core values of life. I transferred to Liberal Arts from a public school and it was the best thing I could have done. My grades dramatically improved and I began having new love for academics. Mr. Holston is a phenomenal man and he instilled values and left a lasting impression on me. The teachers are hands on and always there to help the students. There is a small number of students in the school giving them all a chance to to be themselves. The school is much more laid back than most schools, making it more comfortable and not so uptight . Mr. Holston and Liberal is a place a person never forgets.
Great academic programs, with unique educational options. No music, or sports classes that I know of. And the parents don't come around much......
Firstly I am not a teacher, but rather an alumi and now teacher. Pensacola School of Liberal Arts was the greatest experience I have ever encountered. Mr. Holston as well as the other faculty are phenomenal. They truly care about each students mind, and education. They strive to teach not only valuable academics but important life lessons.
The principal takes an active role in teaching, which has encouraged my daughter to strive for a scholarship with an A average. He takes it upon himself to create a learning envirnment for the kids. The classes are broken up with each child learning one subject each six weeks, which keeps them focused on the itenerary, just like a college course. My daughters now in dual enrollment with the Jr. college in town, getting experience that she would have never gotten with her former school. Two thumbs up, thanks for everything you all have given to my little girl.
