If you are looking for a great high school prep education, this is it. I am now a college sophomore at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA and the transition was not difficult at all from the AP and Honors work at Gulliver to here. You need to make the most of your education at Gulliver; if you can place into a higher class, do it because it pays off in the long run. I am also a Division I athlete and Gulliver has one of the finest athletic high school programs in the country. I am not sure what the reviews are talking about regarding administration harassing individuals. The administration while I was there never gave me too much of an issue, ever. If you go to class, are polite, respectful, and get good enough grades, no one is going to bother you. It is pretty much the same in life.

I was at Gulliver from August 2011 to December 2012. Quite frankly, the environment was quite nice, the people were pleasant, many teachers were very professional, and the food was good, however the administrators constantly find unreasonable justifications to pick on students, especially after their parents stop giving the school donations, and hold personal grudges against students for no justifiable reason. Students are harassed, constantly searched, prohibited at times from calling their parents during questioning by the administration, and they constantly find excuses to invade students' personal lives. They are self entitled, ruthless, and unfair, and seem to be on a power trip, or taking out anger caused by their personal problems on the students. I think it is worth mentioning that the counselor I was assigned is a backstabber. The fact that Gulliver is a private school does not help, as one essentially signs away his/her rights upon enrollment, and there is nothing one can do, other than ensure that their parents provide the school with a generous donation every year. And all of this for only $30,000! Your time will most likely be better spent in a different school.

My kids were constantly harassed by the school's administrators, until the point that I had to withdraw them. If you want the best for your children, you should not send them to this school.

My daughter has never been so happy in a school until she transfered to Gulliver. There is a wonderful student-teacher relationship and the teachers as well as students are excellent!!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
