I really like this school and the staff and teachers are amazing. My only problem is the kids wearing school uniforms.... I believe that kids should be able to express theirselves by wearing school appropriate clothes of their desire. My son has been there since 2nd grade and is now entering 5th and I have another son going into Kindergarten but I will probably do special assignment because uniforms are expensive and just show no character.

We have loved this school. It is a fabulous environment for fun, safe learning. We have been at Rawlings for 4 years and are only leaving because we're moving on to the 6th grade. We wish we could take some of the teachers with us - they have become part of our family. From the administration to the R'Club staff everyone has made these growing years memorable. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I moved both my kids here from Melrose. This is a much better school. The teachers seem more on top of things, the front office people are nice and helpful, there is better communication all around.

About the tests

In 2013-2014 Florida used the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT 2.0) to test students in grades 3 through 10 in reading, 3 through 8 in math, in grades 5 and 8 in science, and in grades 4, 8, and 10 in writing. The FCAT 2.0 is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Florida. The FCAT 2.0 has 5 achievement levels, with level 1 being the lowest and level 5 the highest. Florida considers scores of level 3 and higher to be on or above grade level. The goal is for all students to score at or above level 3.

About the tests

Florida uses School Grades to measure the overall performance of a school each year on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT). Each school is assigned a letter grade (A-F) based on three criteria: the overall performance on the FCAT, the percentage of eligible students who took the test, and whether or not students made progress in reading and math. The School Grades are calculated by adding points earned from each of the performance criteria listed above.
